Is in board any freediver/spearfisher constantly doing solo diving? Personally, I don't go more than 7 meters while solo diving. What do you guys do for safety (shallow-water blackout, nets) while soloing, and do you have any recommendations?
>>266634I always go spearfish solo as I struggle to find people available. Best advice is simply not to go alone obviously, look up forums, Facebook groups etc. If anything happens, you are going to die, no way around it.Know your limits and never overdo it, and most importantly, do NOT hyperventilate before a dive (rapidly breathing in and out), this will delay your physiological response to CO2 and may result in a blackout. Simply take a few deep breaths, exhaling more air than you inhale.Lastly, I suggest you buy a dive watch, I got a used Mares Smart apnea for 80 euros this summer, it's great, tells you depth, temperature, dive time etc, it helps you track your performance and know where your limit is.And bring a knife and signalling buoy, the latter is mandatory here and should be everywhere, every year you get people killed by boats.
