>be me
>Growing up sports were hard
>Uncoordinated as shit
>Can't wash dishes without soap ending up across the other side of the room
>Can't throw paper in a trash can without it missing, and actually knocking out trash
>Can think of countless times where my lack of coordination caused things to be worse
>Grow up
>Join school's lifting club
>Get strong
>Get the physique I've always wanted
>Still uncoordinated
>Get pissed off
>Get into various sports vowing to become average
>Play soccer
>In 1 year, can now play pickup games, defend against failed D3 athletes, become main striker of my team, develop amazing game sense and finding gaps in opposing team
>Literally just game-IQ mogging people rather than doing tricks to play
>Get into volleyball
>In a year, predict where ball's going to be
>Make amazing passes to my setter
>etc.
I think that my lack of coordination made me focus so damn hard and try so hard that it actually raised my ceiling. I see so many people who, without even trying, are naturally better than me. They acquire skills faster, learn shit faster, but then never commit. I think even though I have a lower floor, I have a higher ceiling.

Holy shit I meant to post this in /fit/. Can The janitors clean this one up?

One of my old taekwondo instructors started as a little kid and by all reports absolutely sucked at it until around age 15, when it suddenly clicked and he got so good that he almost made it to the Olympics (stopped by a knee injury).
