Jobs are drying up. Talented 3D artists are getting laid off. Accept it, it's over. The jobs aren't coming back and AI is going to take over this field. So accept it. Accept it and go into trades. Quit doing this this and do real work. Go be an electrician. Just quit living with your head in the clouds. Move on.

the kinds of jobs being lost to this slop are not jobs you would have wanted in the first place, working with creatively bankrupt suits who think they know best controlling every aspect of production. there will ALWAYS be jobs for talented, creative, human individuals. there will just be a lot less slop-jobs to pad out your resume, which is still going to cause a lot of problems, but shouldn't deter the best of the best

also kill yourself OP

>Talented 3D artists are getting laid off.
That tends to happen when you sign up for work at a publicly owned corporation cause it's easy money instead of trying to be independent. You need to go back to the way it was done in the 90s. A small handful of guys all doing different parts, making a game together in their spare time for free. At least these days you have the benefit of crowdfunding once you produce something resembling a proof of concept. If you're not willing to treat game development as the craft it is and rely on corporations to make use of that talent of yours instead of forming your own small team you only have yourself to blame. Corporations are not to be trusted or relied on when it comes to developing a game.
>The jobs aren't coming back and AI is going to take over this field.
And on the other side of things, AI will never be able to do high quality models any time soon. 3D artists still have time, they need to just get off the corporate teat and form your own group. It's easier for actual modelers to form such a group than the "idea guys" can since the "idea guy" pool is tainted by the fact that 95% of idea guys have shit ideas and no one wants to even try to find the remaining 5%.

ignoring the rage bait of this thread. I was wondering if any anon could help me modify a .stl file of a Portal 2 Super button?
I found a file i really like on thingiverse /thing:3706013 but it has no bottom panel and it has no space to put 2 keyboard clickers like this one does /thing:5078900

Did using AI so much melted your brain?
>>
>>1009206
i don't know how it works for everyone, but the way to make the faces smoothed out and less sharp for me is to also put a few iterations of 'prompt' in and 'prompt' again on top of it

People keep talking about how everything is lost to AI yet two of the most popular animated shows were made by independent creators and not AI-bros.

Creativity always wins at the end because it means doing what it hasn't been done before, which generative AIs and executives are inherently unable to do.

3D AI gen models are only good if you want your model to have smeared, blurry textures and a billion polys. Lowpoly CHADS are kings.

>neuralvidz blows your argument out of the water

I checked him and no, he doesn't.
He seems slightly above AI-bros and executives only because he puts a level of human input to the thing, even if as not much as I'd prefer. Anything there is way below any shows I've seen in Newgrounds.
>>
>>1012621
asking an AI-shill for results is like asking a pajeet to use soap.
>>
>>1009206
Some images definitely look better than 90% of what AI usually produces. Then I read what he did to get the results, duds shared between them and I'm still reminded that, at the end of the day, this stuff is still mass-produced stock footage.
If an AI can do it, someone has already done a better version of it.

What is it with Ai?
>>
>>1012346
They're often good enough for 3D printing, especially on the smaller scale where the lack of definition and sharpness doesn't matter. After all, a model generated using a 1024 grid when printed with a 1/20th mm resolution will be 51.2 mm in size, perfect for most RPG or wargaming minis. You still need to do some minimal clean-up first, of course.
>>
ai fags are so jealous of artists even though they claim ai is just as good, kinda weird??

AI artist here. While yes AI can be good in some cases where you have no creative vision or artstyle and are just trying to get some concept art it can be good.
But if you want to use it to create something new and inspired it is not good
>>
>>1014585

Some new fad that will be replaced by some other dumb shit in a year. AI bros are pissed that they sunk money into an incomplete technology, and traditional artists are pissed that they are now experiencing what every carpenter and plumber went through during the mass immigration waves of the 2000s.

>webtranny talking about replaceable roles

>Accept it and go into trades
Why is it always people not in trades telling people to go into trades
>>
It will result in pixarslop, which I have no interest in, and I don't care if youtube gets flooded with low quality, mass produced, terribly written 3d webtoons. I never wanted a job, this was always for fun, but I know there will always be someone who asks:

>Why do anything when there's no money in it BRUH
>>
What if you made your own shit instead of relying on other companies for money?
>>
>>1009031
>Accept it and go into trades
depends on where you live and what you do
I'm not entirely convinced I will be replaced but if I am, they will have to fire me
if they fire me, I'm entitled to severance pay and decent unemployment benefits
the government can't force me to apply to jobs I'm "overqualified" for, so I'll keep applying for jobs as good as the one I have now. if I keep getting rejected, I just keep neeting and drawing
society isn't ready for automation. but that cuts both ways, not just against us
I'm honestly kind of hoping I get fired
I just have a nagging feeling that this would be too good to be true
but I'm not too stressed about it
or this is just how I cope :)
>>
I'm a electrician in the US. It's the perfect balance. No going on the computer doing pretend shit. Just pure work. Then go home, enjoy hobbies. One of them is 3d waifu modelling. You also can't save for retirement as a 3d artist in the west. Passion can suck my chiisai ochinpo. It doesn't make you money unless you are an entrepreneur.
