Why the fuck nobody has made a CAD tool for making anime girls where you can loft 2D sketches?
>>1015520every time I read you repeat this, I think to myself this has got to be the dumbest shit everwhy would you want this? why would it be useful?
>>1015520There are free tools you can use to turn 2d anime pictures into 3d modelsIts called blender
>>1015523It requires skill and effort, which OP doesn't have. He wants everything to be presented to him on a silver plate with a single click of a button.
In case your mental image isn't clear enough, you should know that cris has spent the last week typing variations of "lofting anime girls" into google.
>>1015524he can have that too if he pays me by the hour
>>1015520aah yes, i need a cad model of my anime girls so they can be be machined out of a solid block of steel.
>>1015523As an engineer with 15 years of experience in various CAD programs, Blender is the single most asinine, idiotic, illogical and unintuitive piece of shit ever created. Everything you do, it fights you, on every single step. No matter what you do, it will feel like a hackjob. Something as easy as making a fucking hole out of a profile is a fifty-step process, and it looks like shit in the end anyway. And shit's not parametric either. Everything takes 5x too long for no reason other than "but it's for artists!". I mean, yes, artists have no standards, you've seen that guy who spent 10 years painting a picture by using nothing but swallow droppings? I haven't either, his art for the sake of art is buried among piles of other literal shit artists. Blender is an objectively garbage product.
>>1015976Maybe Blender is not great for CAD work, especially since it can't do STEP, but have you ever heard of anyone using Maya to do CAD?
>>1015976cad bro cant understand polygons :(
>>1015979You'd think with all this artificial idiocy going on, we'd be on an express train to making "understanding polygons" computer's work. Humans think in shapes, whether it's a shaft or an anime girl.
I downloaded Koikatsu to try and port some anime characters to Blender, but so far, all my attempts have ended in disaster. Maybe I should have downloaded VRoid Studio instead.
>>1015978I have received "sculptural" furniture models off a won't-be-named, well known architectural consultancy (architects love to dabble in furniture and product design). First time round I couldn't get the model to import to Solidworks so I had to prise it open in Rhino and reconstruct it.Every file i received from them needed a trip through Rhino for fixing.
>>1015982koikatsu is fucking dogshit why would you even try that in the first place?
>>1015981but thats the fun part. even if we invent some new way of modeling and rendering that doesnt require triangles i will still do it the old way because thats what i enjoy. polygons are perfect for describing surfaces. you can easily create smooth and low poly models with good deformation and texture mapping. why would you want to go away from that?
>>1016059Honestly, I can't think of a better option. Now, I'm considering downloading VRoid Studio. Apparently, there's an add-on that allows you to import characters created with VRoid Studio into Blender. However, I'm not sure if that's a good idea.Man, I just want to animate some original characters.
