mathemathically or draftingly speaking, how do you suppose to, redraw an object in another angle, or direction, maybe based on a single ,2d image of said object? basically like turntable but maybe more, back to basic, like in the age of akira or whatnot.
>>1017225Artists usually have references from different angles to help. If you’re talking about how they imagined it then i guess seeing examples of real world and putting together an image of what you want it to be. Lets take the image of the mecha, its a human sized object which a human can fit and control as a human. If you added real world mechanics that would work if we had better technology you can now imagine a basic concept of the mecha. Still basic isn’t something people like to see so add extra features in the mecha like their heads, give it equipment, a story and color. That’s how one would think of building a mecha.
>>1017225The fuck are you talking about?
>>1017225Lots of work goes into building the reference sheet, that way it can be drawn consistently over and over again. Put it this way, it's not exactly tracing but it's like getting as close to tracing that you can possibly get without actually tracing. Not because tracing isn't effective but because it's too inflexible. Just don't fall into the trap that it's all a magicians trick.
>>1017240Artist imagine things a lot, the first mechas were build around the WW2 war machines. Those small details were added together to form mecha that you see. There’s no good way to describe how one would imagine a WW2 machine turning into something from 1000 years into the future. Every artist thinks differently (which is why many mecha exist) and each person draws inspiration for it.
>>1017242>shouldnt there be something more flexible than tracing and less work, just because it is?Yes, to-scale reference sheets. Just because you draw something *once* doesn't mean you throw it away. Not all art is like that, including references.
>>1017225Use standard perspective drawing to drop in a few boxes, cylinders and primitives that are drawn correctly to spec and then start filling in the blanks with these volumes constraining and informing you about the extent of the geometry in that space and how elements are to be aligned spatially. Just google how to draw mecha and there will be tons of info setting you on the right path.
>>1017260People asking these questions don't even know what perspective is and will never learn. They only want shortcuts.Read the OP, do you think he knows what a vanishing point is or has ever tried to draw in perspective? He thinks basic perspective is magic.>mathemathically or draftingly speaking, how do you suppose to, redraw an object in another angle, or direction, maybe based on a single ,2d image of said object?
>>1017261People need thinspo for the 3DCG train.
>>1017272There’s a thing called aphantasia, a science that explains people with different views on imagination: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z_gV1hEqlA8If you’re having a hard time imagining things then don’t just assume it’s over. Many artists faced the same problem, you just have to try harder or use tools to help figure things out.
>>1017261Well it's like if Op asks how to have heterosexual intercourse. The way you get her done doesn't change just because the Op is gay. Op can only be shown the correct door, he has to be the one to walk thru it.
>>1017276>hmIf it is that simple you d be breeding papers already instead of using your amputated hand to hold banana, dumbfuck
>>1017275So not even buying a copy of the figure that im absolutely sure is on sale for very cheap in aliexpress does not help you. What do you want us to do, there’s no cure for aphantasia. It’s time to decide what you want to do.
>>1017273Aphantasia has nothing to do with perspective
>>1017310If you can’t imagine anything then you do have bad aphantasia and it’s why you can’t imagine a head on the robot with armor plus the equipment around it.
>>1017319If you can't imagine anything, you never practiced doing it. Aphantasia is cope.
>>1017320Aphantasia is a real scientific fact, you’re being an asshole. You couldn’t just buy an exact figure from aliexpress or use a website photo. Trace the mecha and upload it to the internet. A scam artist can do it but not you, that makes you worthless than a scammer.
>>10173282D also uses 3D techniques, depth, orientation, shadows, lighting, color. All were done in 2D before any of us were born. You really need to imagine the mecha, imagine someone drawing it as a cartoon and do the exact thing.

>>1017225i'm not awake enough to understand what you are trying to say but look at this thing i've been working on on-and-off for the past like 5 months>friend with gundam hyperfixation keeps telling me to make a zaku>have barely consumed any gundam media myself but can't think of anything better to try and make at the time so decide to try>steam said i was at 60 hours total usage time when i started>now at 115 hours and still not done>at this point kinda want to remake like half the model but also don't want to be working on this for another 30 hoursall i have left to model is the leg pipes, pauldron, and shield and then i'll be done with this beast
>>1017591Nice work, would love to see other views of that and the low poly/un-modifier-stacked mesh in a WIP thread.Unfortunately, this thread appears to be from this schizo child who will likely spam this board with other asinine topics.>>>/ic/7701537>>>/ic/7703928
>>1017595>Unfortunately, this thread appears to be from this schizo child who will likely spam this board with other asinine topics.that sucks, but i'll probs post more pics of it in the blender general thread whenever i get the leg pipes done, which may be tomorrow or may be two months from now, depending on if i stay in a blender mood for longer than one morning or not
>>1017225Mathematical perspective has been a thing used in drawing since around the renaissance in the 1400s anon.
>>1017596gundam/robots general would be cool. but there's no popularity for it. >>1017595People are still letting the internet raise their children. Even with everything that's going on?, Crazy. /s
>>1017591...oh, im more into traditional things atm>>1017595>>1017596yeah get a room, homo. enjoy your mental illness blabbering since its apparently more in your craft, fuckface>>1017597youtoo, im not in the mood.these motherfuckers only goes about ith math assing my race or gps position. try and fucking read better>>1017598no number of poster, maybe you all are the same retarded twat who find this all too complicated? who knowskill yourselfs
can close this thrrad? i ve said what i ve said. enjoy religion maybe, anything is possible. might as wellrevive me from dead instead. by shooting my skull first
>>1017615>try and fucking read betterLiterally opens up the OP with>mathemathically or draftingly speakingI gave you the terminology for exactly what you're asking for.
>>1017620no you didn't. if you're that low iq then you shouldn't be on this board.
>>1017620>>1017624hi hows it going im OP
