all that knowledge and skill you need to accumulate, just to get pennies on the dollar? WTF?
Good. fire and financially kill all artists from /3/ and India. They should go do welding instead, and the art industry will heal with less people saturating it.
Most of those are the cucks who want to work in the video game industry and take pennies for it.
i make 100k as a fucking graphic designer with barely any 3d experience lmaoooo
>>1022284I'm not surprised, you don't get into the arts and expect to be rich. Unless you're extremely retarded. What are the $100k+ doing though? Senior positions where they don't actually do any 3D anymore?
>>1022284This is a job for having fun, not for making bank. Doing art for money is a fool's errand.
>>1022294as mentioned in another thread, a good vtuber rigger can get into that bracket while staying independent, as can patreon/substar animators.
genuinely cannot imagine doing 3D as a job. I would hate it so fast. way better as a hobby
>>1022297Yeah, plumbing calls out for you pranjeesh
>>1022296Yeah, the guys who make models for hololive and ex-shojo, like 20 guys totalTalk about a pyramid
>>1022296smut slop makers get the rope too
>>1022316Sounds like the talk of a loser who finds excuses not to make it
>>1022284I make ₩95,000,000 as an art director
>>1022289>the art industry will heal with less people saturating it.for real. Being an artist became "cool" and suddenly it got flooded with joiner types just trying to have something interesting to say about themselves at parties.
20+ years in CG industry. Done bunch of stuff. Ads, tv shows, movies, games etc.. Lots of cool projects and few absolute bangers. It was fun back in the days. Also paid really well. Did my archviz sideqests and it paid 5x average annual salary. Then it started to change. All those out of box solutions, one button add-ons, free software like blender, intense stock usage, more accessible “intelligent” software, amateurs making tutorials for other amateurs causing saturated market etc. Now, i think I’m pretty much done with that, looking my way out. This AI thing is unbearable, can’t even hire anyone anymore. It’s all fake now, If I wasn’t on this top % currently, I would be long gone and doing something else. CG industry is absolute garbage now.
>>1022369>to say about themselves at parties. Is this /3/'s dating strategy where /3/ thinks 3D will land them girls at parties?
>>1022284LOOK AT THE STATE OF /3/Key requirements• 45–60 sec full-CG animation, mastered in EXR / ProRes• Two synchronised outputs: 1) main LED wall (anamorphic moments critical: wave crest, snow burst, petal swirl, heat shimmer) 2) circular LED floor (responsive highlights, energy ripples)• High-end fluid, particle and energy simulations to sell the transformation stages• Camera framing and perspective that exploit the booth geometry for maximum pop-out illusion• Final files delivered to exact display specs (I will supply CAD, pixel maps and colour calibration data)€3000-5000 EUR paid on delivery>>36 BIDSFUCKING HELLis this the future of 3D?
>>1022284That's a lot considering most people earn $50k.
>>1022284Are these counting in also self employed people? Because as far as I know self employment and becoming basically eceleb is the only real way of making it as an artist of any kind.
>>1022369>>1022289lump of labor fallacycurrent demand is not static and there is a lot of untapped demand currentlythe market isn't "saturated" its just really hard to connect buyers to people who can do the shit they want done at the skill level needed
>>1022644Yes it is saturatedBecause every shitskin from india or his favelas shack can install blender for free and open a tutorial
>>1022653damn, we have lots of creative minds we can stuff into welding and being a var mechanic!
>>1022653I see. Are those indians in the room with us?
>>1022703https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_0liH0LvrPYLook at his content, both shorts and videos.
>>1022710Oh no someone is making tutorials we at /3/ don't want that
>>1022710i swear people make more money making blender tutorials than anyone has ever made actually using blender in a job. it's like a crazy pyramid scheme where u learn blender so u can make blender tutorials to teach more people blender so they can someday make monetized blender tutorials and on and on. meanwhile maya users are just quietly working on triple a video games and hollywood movies...
>>1022737>triple a video gamesI would rather get indie games made in blender than goyslop AAA
>>1022731>solo game dev from pakistan making an AAA game with 0€ budget>how to make a game in 2 minutes
>>1022746Thiw is implying they're gonna fail at that impossible task so they're no threat at all
>>1022710he's increasing his IZZAT by teaching skills that will not be relevant in the future
I can't fucking wait until every single stinky DEI artist occupying the jobs will get laid off. It's so beautiful reading their crying and stomping and sobbing on reddit knowing they have to give up their gold spoon dream and do a physical job. There are too many artists... we must heal. The huge 3dcg balloon oversaturated with "artists" will deflate soon in a satisfying way
