FBX was originally developed by Kaydara. That's the True FBX. Then Autodesk bought them and changed it into their own FBX "evolution", the Fake FBX, which is the kind Blender exports.

Instead of to use the code they reverse engineered it poorly, it wasn't even paid by the blender foundation, I think it was Epic Games.
