Post shows that you've been watching either raw or with JP subs.
Have there been any lines you've found to be difficult?
Mangas are also fine, but VN/LN readers GTFO
>>
>>288245018
I'm not at the level of being able to watch JP subbed anime yet, but is it easy to find JP subs for stuff or is it a paiN?
>>
>>288245046
Very easy. https://jimaku.cc/ has most of the popular shows available.
Also, if you can read kana, then you're probably already at the level where you can start watching shows. Anime is like a hack to learning Japanese.

I got hiragana down but I havent bothered with katakana yet. Been doing basic vocab instead.
I haven't fully done grammar yet though, so I dont think just being able to read hiragana would help me actually understand what is being said, i'd just know what is says phonetically.
>>
It's subbed now but about a year before the complete subs came out I watched the whole thing raw since I assumed that it was never going to be finished. It was surprisingly easy to understand despite the dialogue being slightly antiquated.
>>
>>288245092
>most of the popular shows
too bad I'm not interested in popular shows
kitsunekko has a paltry selection of only the popular stuff too. The japs need to step up their ripping game
>>
>>288245663
Which show are you looking for? It's probably subbed
>>
>>288245557
I doubt you understood any of it.
>>
>>288245238
Oh wow, you just started lol
>>
>>288245747
Nothing at the moment, I just meant in general
>>
>>288245806
Most anime has JP subs, my dude. Look harder.

What's this saying then? You claimed it was surprisingly easy to understand, so this should be no problem: https://vocaroo.com/11h0m1vap7lj

A sneaky learn nip thread already got nuked
>>
>>288246951
This isn't about learning Japanese. This is just a thread for people who already know it and are watching anime raw.
>>
>>288246951
Fuck off
>>
>>288245018
You already tried this shit with your "DLT" thread today that the mods relocated to bant, why are you trying your luck again?
>>
>>288247985
Either stay on topic or go somewhere else, retard.
>>
Sure, I can participate.
Better than "holding up", it is excellent and makes me annoyed that even things like Frieren don't come close to this. I assume this reaction is the same for every non-hylic.
>>
>>288245937
Yeah, I know, I'm complaining that there isn't a nyaa for JP subs where everything is available all in one place. It's currently spread out on a dozen different websites
>>
>>288247002
Then choose a series and post about it you don't have to make an entire threat about raw and most people watch it hearing Japanese anyways
>>
>>288248260
Yeah, right, most people don't understand any of what they're listening to. And this is a thread for ANY raw anime. It's not one specific show that we're talking about. Now kindly FUCK OFF
>>
>>288246951
Where does it say learning and why are you so annoyed
>>
>>288248149
Lucky Star really hits different watching raw

I'm watching Heidi's movie

>>
>>288248867
Ayo based Heidi enjoyer.
>>
>>288248914
Never watched it before and I had no idea what I was getting into. I'm not having a hard time at all staying invested. It's really good.
Her aunt is the biggest bitch I've ever seen in an anime.
>>
>>288245092
huh.
I need to stop Anki-droning and start watching raw anime.
I tried reading raw manga but man it's such a pain to do.
>>
>>288249787
Yeah, it's an absolute classic. The audio's kind of crusty on it though. I give you credit for powering through
>>
>>288250146
Pro tip, watch the raw anime to cut your teeth then listen to the audiobook version assuming it's based on an LN. Same material, but lower context environment and usually more varied vocabulary and grammar patterns on account of not being just dialogue.
>>
>>288250511
>points to OP
NO LNS
>>
>>288250146
Quit being a baby and just do it.
>>
>>288245018
I've been watching 勇者刑に処す and it's been awesome. So much useful military vocabulary and awesome action scenes. I love the interaction between Xylo and Teoritta. She always talks so dignified.
>>
>>288251271
it takes me like 10 minutes to read a single page if there is a lot of text to translate and I'm not mining so it's not like I am going to remember the kanji anyways.
suffering.
>>
>>288251785
And it will keep being like that until you put the hours in. There is no way around that.
>>
>>288251806
well what kind of workflow do I need to benefit from manga reading efficiently?
it's so much less effort just to do 20-30 minutes of Anki a day with a deck that's already laid out
>>
>>288251832
You're not gonna be able to read shit in context if you keep using pre-made decks. It helps to get some starter vocab, but read on your own and mine on your own to have built in context you can easily recall. You're also actively learning when you're deciphering what you read versus just cramming what's written on a flashcard.

Just set a minimum requirement to read 1 chapter a day at first and mine it. At first, you may look up a lot and mine a lot, but after a while it starts decreasing, and 1 chapter won't be enough so you read more.
>>
>>288251785
Go mine, you idiot. How do you expect know how to read IF YOU DONT MEMORIZE THAT SHIT GOD
>>
>>288251920
Wow actual good advice. Based anon
>>
>>288252042
Yes but I need a good workflow for mining from manga.
Making cards manually is a fucking pain in the ass and saps my desire to read.
>>
>>288252135
Manga cards can actually be one click to have the picture and sentence added to the card. Are you having trouble with actually getting the sentence to your clipboard or is it the picture part?
>>
>>288248149
> そういうのって
That kind of thing
>取れない
Can't win
>ように
So that
>できてる
Made
>んじゃないの?
Isn't it?

Japanese is impossible. Literal opposite language. No one can learn this shit.
>>
>>288252135
yomitan, retard. shouldn't take more than 20 seconds to make a full card, maybe 40 if you're manually inputting an example sentence rather than snipping/copypastig.
>>
>>288252802
Sorry, anon, this thread is for people who watch Japanese anime in its original language. I'm sure there's a good Crunchyroll thread for idiots like you kek
>>
>>288252802

Turn A Gundam, I'm having a good time but it's clear that I'm barely understanding any of the language and it's mostly just experiencing the vibe.
>>
>>288252871
Why not flip on the JP subs if you're getting lost? Helps you look up things you don't know.
>>
>>288252042
read books closer to your reading level. If you can't read half the page, then you're not supposed to be reading it yet. If there's only one new kanji every page, then you're in the right place.
>>
>>288253001
You don't need to read any books. Just watch anime and look up the words you don't know. It doesn't matter if it's 1 or 100 new words. Honestly, the less you know, the more you learn.
>>
>>288253110

MTL retard lmfao
>>
>>288253194
Ah, so you do know how to use the quote function. Tell me who is being quoted here >>288252851
>>
>>288253211
Oof, no need to be so angry, anon. What machine did you use to translate that?
>>
>>288253231
Who are you quoting in this >>288252851 post?
>>
>>288253248
Your Japanese reads like 私の言葉は前後を無視して引用されました *bows humbly*
>>
>>288253263
The irony when you write like that. Who exactly are you quoting in this >>288252829 post?

I watched Noir recently
Surprisingly very little dialogue per episode, but I couldn't help but disconnect a little sometimes when they talked politics. I don't enjoy pausing that much.
That said watching things in context help a lot. Picked up a couple of new terms and got to rewatch a very good anime
>>
>>288254700
Yeah, I know what you mean. Anytime there's a pointer scene in an anime, you're almost always gonna have to pause to learn some new terms, but that's also when most of the plot happens so I've learned to enjoy taking them slow.
I gotta watch Noir, thanks for reminding me, anon.
>>
>>288245018
Been watching Soul Eater and I'm pissed there's no official subs for it. My ear just isn't good enough to make out some of this shit.
>>
>>288245092
>they have subs for Dunbine
Holy shit that's a game changer. Thanks, anon.
