What are your thoughts on it?I had seen it before via torrent, but it premiered yesterday in my country. Perhaps ten people or so were with me at the screening, althought it was before 3PM, so perhaps that's the reason for the small crowd.I loved Tachyon's dynamic with Bucket! Did you guys enjoy tje movie?
>>288291605Haven't seen it yet. Though 8 do like tachyon her game persona and movie persona are different so I'm not really in a rush to watch it. That's all I really know.
>>288291813I should try to play the game, to see how Tachyon behaves, honestly. Sadly, I do not have the energy for a gacha right now.Give it a try, the races have kino animation. I also liked Opera's depiction, as she had great aura.
It's the best umedia ever released. The animation is much more interesting and so is the shot framing. The character arcs are much better paced and don't take forever to get to the interesting parts. It's also a lot more interesting to have a rivalry that never really gets resolved because of a situation outside of the MCs control. The music is fucking great and doesn't just work for the scenes, but it elevates them to something more than just the images on screen. It's just the best. I never liked any of the umedia prior to this. I like this one a lot.
Music definitely carried this movie.
>>288292002I agree with the notion of not having a rivalry resolved, although it felt they backtracked at the end with Tachyon's getting back at racing. That being said, I do understand it would have ended the movie with a sour aftertaste of were not the case. I would have preferred she accepting not being able to run and supporting Pokke as a coach, or something, but that'd go beyond the movie's scope I guess.I loved the animation too. Moreover, I think the narrator did a great job at hyping the races, I loved that intense shouting when Dantsu and Pocket were at each other. Great movie overall.
>>288291605fuck off casino shill
>>288292157Never could get into it, goyim.
>>288292095If that were the case, she'd just race her again whenever they wanted on the school's track. In my head, her making a conscious choice to never touch racing again outside of watching makes more sense for what the story is going for.
>>288292301Absolutely agree. That's why the ending was a bit confusing for me. But I understand it would have seen as a sad ending for her gacha fans, who are the target audience at the end of the day.
>>288292301Besides, I'd like to add that the writers tried their best with what they got. The idea about recovery was first developed with Fuji - the cutest Uma in my opinion. Unfortunately, it felt underwhelming when it was translated the Tachyon's case.
>>288292608My understanding is that these shows and movie have their stories tied directly to the real life racing records of the horses and the four characters of the movie, cafe, pocket, dantsu and tachyon all had some kind of rivalry going on when they were most active. So the wins, losses and retirements have to be consistent. With that in mind, if there was a character that got the short end of the stick it would've been Cafe, since her only win in the movie was shown in a montage of sorts and was over in about a minute. I understand what they're going for, but it seems obvious that when the story was written, tachyon and pocket were chosen as the focus and everyone else would serve as side characters.
>>288292744That's fair. I would've have preferred not seeing Tachy running at the end. But I didn't think about Cafe, and yes, it was kinda sad she got sidelined.
>>288292846That bit with Tachyon is something that's creatively up to the writers. Because the real Tachyon just retired and stayed retired, but they're saying that the character could've kept running by keeping that part open ended and having the movie end. If they kept it close to real life, the character would've just retired and had a bunch of sex before dying several years later from a heart attack, because the real Tachyon eventually became a studhorse after retirement.Granted, my understanding is that they've done this with other characters, in the game, show, etc. I don't know which ones off the top of my head, but Uma musume seems to be a series where there's some strict guidlines, but also some parts where things are very open. So, some characters have arcs that diverge from their real life counterparts, while others don't.
>>288292976From what I remeber, Silence Suzuka also got her ending changed, as she got a fracture that ended her life IRL.At the end of>>288292976 the day, the franchise tries to keep it light hearted. You can always find doujins / fanfics to get off your ich if you are looking for something different. Sadly, Tachy / Pokke content is not as popular in Japan as Tachy / Cafe stuff. But yeah, even with its shortcomings, the movie was great.
>>288293095Yeah, I get the light hearted part of it. Maybe this is a series that does well with children and they don't want to make it too dark? Not sure about the game's demographics.
>>288291605I forgot Dantsu Flame was a main character....
>>288291605>Agnes Tachyon glaze No thanks
sexy umas
I want an umamusume in heat to pin me down and breed me to get my offspring
>>288291921You should its fun. No need to grind on it all the time.
>>288292095>I agree with the notion of not having a rivalry resolved, although it felt they backtracked at the end with Tachyon's getting back at racing.I'm fine with Tachyon and Fuji going back to racing here. I only expect early retirement in stories like CinGrey and Star Blossom
>>288292846>I would've have preferred not seeing Tachy running at the end.I know it's a feel-good franchise but the way that Agnes Tachyon acts throughout the film made that a bridge too far in my opinion. Poke is quite dumb so a lot of it might have gone over her head by Cafe and even Dantsu were able to clock Tachyon quite accurately as someone who didn't hesitate to take her own pain out on Jungle Pocket by mocking her for never being able to settle the question of who's the better Classics racer, knowing full well that it meant a lot to Pokke and that she would never really get a chance to answer that question because you only get one chance at the classics. It puts Pocket into such a slump that she needs Fuji to pull her out of it by risking her own body racing her - which is probably something she needed to do for herself as well, but still comes back to Tachyon choosing to hurt the people around her. The scene where Pocket walks in on Tachyon in her lap besides the open window makes me think that Tachyon was thinking of killing herself too. Then when she's confronted by Pocket and told not only that she's confronted the wound that Tachyon left on her, she's also still waiting for her to come back and race with her, she pulls the curtain shut and steps away from the window. It's not a super dark film but they still managed to make it rather mature for the subject matter and I don't think it's a coincidence.
