That Minami is flawed is clear but worse than Sadaharu? That's just crazy to me. Minami's biggest sin isn't that she's emotionally distant from her daughter but, rather, that she's given up on the emotional aspect of her mother-daughter relationship. Soyo's mom is absent but she tries for her daughter in her own way and seemingly values what time she does get to spend with her daughter. Kiyotsugu tried, failed, and maybe seems to be trying again. A lot of his (self-inflicted) pain is in his inability to be the father figure that he knows his daughter needs. Sadaharu maybe tries in his own way based on just how much stuff he lets Hatsune get away with but obviously, he actively avoids any sort of explicit emotional bond. Minami just gives off the impression that she does it for herself and that Mutsumi merely occupies the same space as her.

Atsudori had a bunch of issues - it sounded uncool because it translated into "hot dream", and the way it combined parts from "our notes" + "dream" was too convoluted.But Awaanootsu isn't a solution because it's just a full name. 4 syllable abbreviations are standard after all, so fans will come up with something different anyway. Maybe a simple Awanotsu, maybe something else.
