How do you feel about Westaboo Mangaka who base their entire works on their obsession and hobbies of modern American and European culture?
>>
>>288319002
I wish there were more of them.
>>
the current west is morally and creatively destitute, any work based of it will be likewise
>>
>>288319002
I don't care as long as what they make is good
the industry itself was built by westaboos
>>
If it’s interesting, then it’s fine.
>>
>>288319002
I don't have a strong opinion on them one way or the other but I'm not interested in reading their works.

>Westaboo Mangaka who base their entire works on their obsession and hobbies of modern American and European culture?
It revives my love for my own culture that today's society tries it's hardest to estinguish.
>>
>>288319002
it's often better than the stuff they try to emulate
>>
>>288319002
It's good. You should also learn how other cultures work.
>>
>>288319002
"Modern American culture" just means either Texan culture or classic 70s-80s.

Westaboo Mangaka that does 2020s "coastal American culture" will the doom of their career
>>
>>288319454
It's pretty bad that westerns have to romanticize their shit just to like it in the current year +10.
>>
>>288319555
What is texan culture, is it separate to broader southerner culture?
>>
>>288319880
Texas is the biggest, so guns, barbeque, cowboy culture. Texas mainly its the epicenter
>>
>>288319907
There's also more historic southern culture of the scotch irish and the aristocratic english settlers, presumably that's problematic now
>>
>>288319002
What is Takei up to anyway? Is he ever going to start that Flower of Maize bullshit or is he distracted by mechashit again
>>

>How do you feel about Westaboo Mangaka
Westaboo is "weeaaboo" term. Both of them are normalfag underage subculture war core.
Having broad horizons is always better.
>>
>>288319931
Distracted by mecha manga called "Juro", still no previous date of starting the F.o.M manga

They tend to be the most soulful mangaka around.
>>
if it's good, it's good
if it's bad, it's bad

To not put too fine of a point on it.

Is this guy ever going to finish shaman king?

>digital drawing
no wonder his art sucks now

Goddamn, never thought I'd see a Big Guy & Rusty reference. That show was great.
>>
>>288319002
What was with all the drug references?
>>
>>288323019
Shamon King borrows a lot from the 1960's and 70's hippy movement in American and European countries. Its honestly a neat mix sitting of modern + 1960's pop culture.
>>

>the most soulful mangaka around
That would be the oji-sans who are old enough to have been adult, or at least teenage, otaku in the Showa era.
>>
>>288320874
Is he underwhelmed by the american comic market?
>>
>>288319002
I didn't see a lot of great examples. Bride from Brittany looked good but nobody cares.
>>
>>288323235
I've been meaning to try it. Greg Yamada is a medieval westaboo and I really like his manga and sense of humor. His style and flow of plot and storytelling is quite peculiar though, not everyone may like it and it definitely suits manga with a more loose plot and structure. There's also Mori Karou. That's about all I can think of off the top of my head.
>>
>>288323157
Yeah, but he still geeked out at the chance to meet his favorite western comic artists.
>Nirasawa mentioned on the page
I miss him.

How would a japanese man pronounce the name Geof?
they don't have half the phonemes.
Is it like ji-fu?
>>
>>288324201
I'd imagine they pronounce it like "Jeff" (Jefu)
>>
>>288324366
wouldn't that come out closer to ze-fu?
If they're reading the words out it'll be geh-oh-fu

This is why I'm curious.
>>
>>288319002
Takei born in the wrong country. If he born in America, he could be senator or even president. They worship pedophiles there
>>
>>288324201
Newfag they've invented kana combinations to spell gaijin words for more than a century. Compared to other nontraditional syllables like fa fi fe fo, je isn't even that hard for them to say and it occurred in regional dialects before this innovation to standard japanese.
Also j in japanese is said more like dy than regular english j.
>>
>>288324755
>They worship pedophiles there
If only that were true. It's so weird how anglophone countries are the most anti pedophile countries in the world yet people like you insist pedophilia is considered ordinary within them.
>>
>>288319002
I don't care as long as they produce good stories.
>>
>>288319002
>American culture
worshipping jews and blacks? I don't think there are that many manga like this
>European culture
too broad to generalize
>>
>>288326017
Modern european culture is as jewish and uninteresting as modern american culture
But older american cultures like the western frontier are far more interesting than the histories of entire european countries
>>
>>288324755
Obsessed.
