It takes a normal person only like a month or so of watching movies/shows in a language he doesn't speak to get used to it.
So, for example, I got into Chinese cinema (especially Hong Kong action cinema) earlier this year. Listening to Mandarin and Cantonese at first felt strange, but I got used to it after like roughly a month of watching a new movie every day.
The problem is that the person you responded to isn't normal. He sounds like every election tourist here who only got into anime recently and can't get over his racist and schizo IRL hangups when it comes to language, pronunciation and so on. Wouldn't be surprised if he's a /pol/fag.
