I think the problem with part 2 was the overarching apocalypse plot (which ultimately killed the damn thing) and the over abundance of conspiracies, mystery boxes, and one dimensional side characters. If Fujimoto really killed his darlings we should've focused more on the interpersonal conflict between Asa and Denji (and Yoru who complicated it). It didn’t even have to end with Asaden, but you basically wasted dozens of chapters setting up a nothing character, a one note villain, and reducing Denji to a cardboard cutout.
