I am making this thread again but name your favorite and your most nostalgic 2000s anime!
Higurashi by DEEN
>newfag discovers an old anime>makes it his identity and has to spam it every single dayI hate that I have to share this space with autists like this.
>>288340960I like 2000 anime and I am glad you like it OP

Pico x Chico x Coco
>>288340960>2000si was watching older animes like Gundam: Bernie Hamburger.and Stardust Memory.
>>288340960Hidamari sketch>>288342223I think op is asking about your favorite 2000s anime not about hat anime you were watching in 2000. It might be hard to process.
>rec thread
>>288340960boku no pico
>>288342019DEEN Higurashi still mogs the remake just off atmosphere alone. Ugly faces, swamp colors, cicadas screaming, everyone looking like they smell like summer sweat. That's the good shit.
>>288342855Putting the QUALITY aside, I like the character designs in the deen higurashi more than any of the vn sprites and remake character designs. It's just something about them that makes them spark. The original vn sprites do have soul as well.
>>288342617How should I make a 2000s anime thread that doesn't look like a rec thread? i am curious.
>>288340960tactics, Kuroshitsuji, Hell Girl. Most of my favorite anime are from the 2000's
>>288344146> Hell GirlI like Hell Girl as well!
>>288344180I miss its slow, melancholic vibe so damn much, it's perfect for rainy days. It's the kind of series that only would've been greenlit in the 2000's https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OcSlkpVUGX0
>>288340960Come help the revolution>>23749222>>23749222>>23749222
I really liked how experimental that era feltStudio 4ºC put out many interesting short films, and watching anthologies like Genius Party, Animatrix and AniKuri is always funEven Halo Legends had some winners in there
Not my favorite but something im seeing right now is Godannar, first episode was awesome, so fast paced, action filled, 2d mecha action, some good comedy and fanservice galore. Im surprised its not on more rec lists, im guessing it will go to shit later but 1st impressions are 10/10.
>>288346071>Not my favoriteThis mentality brainwash your thoughts
Youtube's algorythm has been recommending me videos about Dino king lately, and now that I remember I don't really recall ever watching the second season, I'll might rewatch S1 and continue with S2, though I already know it's not that good
>>288346435It has the same director as Boku no Pico interestingly
>>288340960Genji.
>>288346435I recently watched the first season subbed in English and I enjoyed it. If you like dinosaurs you will likely like it. Zoe is also cute af.Sadly I didn't find anything about the second season subbed beyond two episodes.
Been rewatching Keroro since we're getting the new movie and a new anime. Excited for all that, I just hope it's not shit. >>288346435It is what it is. I still enjoy it, cute girls and dinosaurs are all I really need.
>>288347169wish it had more cute girls, it's mostly shota
Thoughts on Speed Grapher?
>>288347169Omae Umasou is the best dino anime imo
Seto no Hanayome, one of the best comedy shows ever made.
God Gravion
>>288347631>Seto no Hanayome, one of the best comedy shows ever made. You know, I would really love a complete Anime adaption and an official release for the Manga
>>288347169>Been rewatching Keroro since we're getting the new movieDid we get better raws and better subtitles? Or we still have the old ones? Can the Manga finally end?

>>288340960Kaleido Star
>>288347193Dinosaur King has plenty of cute girls tho.
>>288347866Personally I've always felt the anime ended in the perfect place. The MC went from wimpy to manly and he cemented his love for Seto. Adding much else past the OVAs would just spoil it.
>>288348188Based
>>288348120>Futakoi AlternativeThat is a spin-off from the Futakoi franchise, there are 3 visual novels, some manga and some light novels. This series was a replacement for the Princess sister franchise. We still don't have translations for the Visual Novelshttps://backloggd.com/u/lockstepper/list/the-complete-list-of-ps2-games-still-lost-in-translation?page=1
>>288348375>Adding much elseDude, is a manga adaptation, not some anime original. Just give me a new ANIME adaption by SCIENCE SARU
>>288348593Interesting, was the anime an adaptation or an anime original spinoff? I greatly enjoyed it so it's a shame the vns haven't been translated.
For me, GunxSword is the peak of 00's anime. I just love this show so much.
>>288348870Wendy is such a cutie!
>>288348870proto-Code GeassI like it and I love Fasalina's body.
>>288347545That's a damn good one. I have that on bluray.>>288347976I think it's just the old ones online. There's the subs from Discotek too, but good luck getting those discs now.
I'm currently watching Koihime Musou. It's cute and hot. I love the yuri and nipples in it.
Watch Hanaukyou Maid Tai/Team both the original and La Verite)!
>>288340960Favorite: Haibane RenmeiMost nostalgic : Elfen Lied
>>288346435Kodomo shows girls peaked in the 2000s. They were so cute and marked the childhood of thousands of late millennials and early zoomers. Creators back then knew how to turn children into men.
>>288340960

>>288349657Lots of VN adaptations in the 2000's, shame the trend died since i tend to like VN writing a lot, though most would be cucked by modern standards today.
>>288349657So do you have an answer for >>288348720? I am asking because a lot of databases count it as anime original instead of an adaptation so I am curious if it’s a nanoha type of situation.
>>288349678did you also watch komugi chan?
>>288340960This is the best example of a show I knew use to be a lot of peoples first anime but no one has any idea exist anymore if you were around before
>>288349093GIWTWM
>Flcl>Cutie Honey Re>Abenobashi>Gurren Lagann00s Gainax was pure fun
>>288349782>a lot of databases count it as anime original instead of an adaptationI think is technically anime original because the visual novel has a bunch of Twins for you to picks their route. And the Anime has only 1 pair of twins
>>288349678This was such a weird show.
>>288349821>>288350485both were fun
>>288349856I love that the witch girl is a bi queen.
>>288349856I think the mangaka of Iruma-kun read the manga or watched the anime and decided to create a similar story.
>>288350643I wanted to post that picture for another reply.I wanted to say that shojo shows from that era weren't that bad.
>>288350663> say that shojo shows from that era weren't that bad.Not just that, they were actually pretty good: Tokyo mew mew, Baton san, Ouran host club, Full Moon
>>288349856Rosario + Vampire was one of the first ecchi I watched. Liked it so much I even ended up reading the manga. Admitedly it's pretty dated by today standards and they butchered the story of the manga hard, but I still have a lot of nostalgia for it, Moka is still one of my favorite anime girls and it made me fall in love with Nana Mizuki's voice.
>Ippo>One Outs>Major>Cross Game>Eyeshield 21The 2000s was the last decade for great sports anime. Feels like the entire genre just became fujobait afterwards.
>>288350902True but the 2010s had Ping Pong.
>Chobits, Yugioh, Shaman King, Princess Tutu, Azumanga Daioh, Rozen Maiden, Eureka Seven, Hellsing, Black Lagoon, Haruhi, Death Note, Hell Girl, Code Geass, Welcome to the NHK, Higurashi, Shankugan No Shana, Darker than Black, Strike WitchesThat was such a great decade anime wise and also real life wise especially the late 00s were great for anime. I think I could also count Baka To Test and Angel Beats because 2010 is technically also the 00s but that would mean I also would have to count Oreimo which I also enjoyed very much. The 2010s were a decline with the early 2010s anime still being great. The 2020s have been mediocre so far.
>>288351059> Princess TutuTook a long time for someone to mention it.
Saikano is underrated. I especially love the end of humanity ending.
>>288340960Pico to Chico
If there's any anime I wish I could erase all memories of and watch it for the 1st time again, it would be Scrapped Princess. It's still one of my favorite twists in all of anime.

>>288351497>it would be Scrapped PrincessLight Novel adaption, it has 13 volumes and 5 volumes collections of short stories. TokyoPop translated the first 3 volumes. This is the same author of Outbreak Company light Novels and Hitsugi no Chaika Light Novels(this one is getting fan-translations)
>>288350902Isnt megalobox ok?
>>288351059Hurts how true this is.
>>288351157>Saikano is underratedManga adaptation, it adapts 90% of the Manga with some cuts but the final episode is different from the Manga. The series has a Visual Novel adaption for the PS2, that adaptation has different routes to try.I really dislike that we don't have more translations or adaptations from this author, he made a lot of melancholy stories and I really would like someone like SCIENCE SARU to try their hands with a melancholy story

>>288342855It's a rare case where the low budget worked in their favour. The characters looking like dolls, the bleached colours and the rushed story make it look like a surreal dream which goes well with the themes of paranoia and mystery. I wonder if this was a conscious decision on the director's part or if it was more of a lucky coincidence.

>>288351059You're not wrong, the era of 2006-2011 was the golden age of modern anime. Studios weren't afraid to experiment which created many unique and memorable shows. Does anyone remember Simoun?
I recently watched Air Gear for the first time and it's likely the most 2000s anime ever made. The focus on a futuristic variant of roller blades, the character designs, the OST, it's a perfect time capsule of the whole 2000s aesthetic, it felt oddly nostalgic despite the fact it was my first watch, such a curious feeling. Sad the anime is a slideshow since the concept needed a more fluid animation (the OVAs were thankfully better in that regard), but the OST is amazing.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HyHGowi-AMk

>>288361590Yes.
>>288356592>the movie was so incomprehensible I got bored and dropped it, despite the nice animation. The movie looks great but the story is total dogshit. It's "here's a basic outline of the characters, then they all die in battle".You owe it to yourself to watch the actual 2001 anime.
>>288359193Don't forget Gelni! I'm with you on that a lot of stuff i enjoyed then and now isnt exactly shakespear but that gives it some charm and texture. I think it's time i give it a rewatch

>>288356444>>288359193Interesting. To me the mobile cities and monster infested wastelands are the most memorable part of the show, it's such a unique setting combo. I believe I liked the tomboy mechanic the most even though I knew she was the designated loser heroine
Pretty slow thread, I was expecting it to be a little faster.
>>288361694I have special place in my heart for Air gear too even though the manga goes off the rails. It along with Black Cat were some of the first animes I've ever watched. >>288365124This entire board is slow because everyone is sick of how boring and predictable browsing /a/ has become.
>>288367681The pink hair made me think that was Girls Bravo for a moment. The brown haired girl on the top left also looks a bit like Kirie in the manga art.
>>288367838Even the seasonal anime generals have become slow.
>>288367838all media boards are pretty boring nowadays, i guess people here are getting too old
>>288367920that and the mods are the same people that spams every board with their shitty bait making this site awful to browse
The perhaps most boring 00s anime I've ever watched (2010 is still 00s and I was sure the anime is from earlier from 2008 or 2009 but no it was 2010), maybe even the most boring anime I ever watched. It was one of these harem vn adaptations. The blonde girl isa vampire as well as her brother who is very old but has a teenager body and still goes to highschool for some reason. There was some froced family drama with her vampire mother. The orange haired twin with the hat is lesbian for her younger sister and always says how she wants to marry her but both are love interests for the male mc.The blue/silver haired loliesque girl has an older brother who is part of the male cast. The mc is from another town he recently came to their boarding school as an exchange student. He has some memory loss about a car accident and the younger orange haired twin was involved in it somehow. The dark haired girl also has some kind of magic powers. The OVA features them going on a weekend trip and playing tennis.I don't remember anything lese about it.
>>288357395>>288357421Oh yeah, the characters are lanky and the girls are hot because of Kimura, god bless his soul. But there really aren't any other similarities. Everything else about them is completely different.>>288362122Fuck off.
>>288367915>>288367920>>288368065The problem is that nobody wants to engage with the media. Everyone is passive, old /a/ was way more active, making wiki pages, translating Visual Novels, searching for good DVDs, trying to analyze musical lyrics, searching for old Mangaka interviews, etc

I watched Shuffle in 2021. I even had a dream with the girls in it one time. I was surprised that the anime had nipples. I like Primura. She reminds me of Ruri from Nadesico and Len from Tsukihime. She also reminded me of Rei Ayanami a bit but less so nowdays. The green haired girl Asa reminds me a bit of Sekai from School Days.
>>288340960Kaiji>>2883683294chan creativity has gone down the drain, on /v/ it's mostly twitter threads, on /tv/ it's youtube videos and on /a/ it's just whatever funny page from the latest shonen manga. A shame.
>>288368567/pol/ is also filled with twitter threads. I hate twitter but unfortunately I also got a bit addicted to it but I'm only an observer on twitter.

>>288368666Kiddy Grade is on my backlog. I'll finish Dog Days then I'll watch it.
>>288366870That one is pretty good. It gives such a nostalgic feeling. Forgot to mention that the opening is quite awesome too.Simca's haircut was tragic.>>288368482Technically true, I'm from 1997, so early zoomer. My taste mainly goes towards shows of the 2000s and early 2010s tho.
>>288367876I can see why you thought about Girls Bravo, the pink haired girl do resemble the one from that show. Best girl for me was the blue haired ojou-sama.
>>288368543>I was surprised that the anime had nipplesIt does?
>>288361273>>288361577I don't know why the 2020s have been mediocre so far. Perhaps covid really broke the anime industry. Perhaps it's just nostalgia but most of the anime I mentioned here I watched in the 2010s>>288351059and four of the ones I mentioned I watched in the 2020s (Azumanga Daioh, Princess Tutu, Oreimo and Strike Witches). Only two of the anime I mentioned I actually watched in the 00s (Shaman King and Yugioh) and I think I've read Death Note in 2009 or 2010 I can't remember when.Perhaps it's nostalgia for the 2010s when I really became an anime fan and watched a lot of anime, I don't know. One of my favorite anime from the 2020s is Nier Automata and that one is a video game adaptation of a video game from 2017 and I love robot girls anime which perhaps explains why I like it so much. The best anime from the 2020s don't seem to be as good as the good ones from the 10s, 00s and perhaps the 90s.I don't think Frieren or Mushoku Tensei would be praised that much in previous decades and I doubt people would praise stuff such as Solo Leveling in previous decades.During covid I watched way too many 20s seasonal anime searching for a really good, really epic one and I got burned out a bit.
