do people actually unironically read Light Novels?
I don't but other people do. Some people also read fanfiction about Sonic and Darth Vader being a polygamous relationship. Who cares?
>>288341722LLM trained on Light Novels.
>>288341722For some abhorrent reason, yeah, they do. I don't get it either. Fucking either read proper novels or read manga.
>>288341722i have read some light novels if the interest is there, but i do prefer either manga or regular novels
>>288341722people actually unironically watch anime and read manga too, literal children
>>288341722>do people actually unironically readYes.
>>288341825>>288341722Konosuba has an anime and manga. If you don't care that people watch/read Konosuba, or any of the 9999 anime adapted from a LN, or even watched any of those, why do you care that someone looks at the script for it? That's hypocritical.
>>288341722lost interest when I realised that TLs are just fan OCs
>>288341759You can't just say that without linking examples.
>>288341722Frieren has a novel?? Also it's written by the guy who did Natsu Tunnel. Interesting.
>>288341722>top selling LN was an adaptation of a yuri movie
>>288341722I didn't know CP Kaguya was a light novel, is it worth reading? Does it expand on the movie?
>>288341937I don't read fanfics, sorry. But I'm sure ao3 can help you to find anything you want.
>only 160k in 6 monthsThat's grim as shit. I thought light novels were more popular than that
>>288341759And just like LN readers, those "people" should be sent to labor camps
>>288345162Why though?
>>288345132English sales of books are 150k to 400k for 6 months for the top 1%, LN is just a subsection so it is incredibly good. Top 25 to 50 english books sell between 15k – 30k copies in 6 months.
>>288341722I uesd to be when I was a teen, but once you grow up you stop reading at all.
>>288341825Every series listed is better than your favorite "proper novel".
>>288341722I see some GL in that top list; I think the local malefag is going to feel a strong burning sensation because of that.
>>288345132Light novels are really cheap to make, they don't really need to sell that many copies to be profitable. The real purpose of light novels to cheaply produce new series for adaptations to other media. Light novels are the equivalent of throwing spaghetti against a wall, they're so cheap to make that you can put out tons of them and few that are successful can be adapted into media franchises.
>>288341722I've only ever read Haruhi.
>>288345281He thinks hating people for liking things he doesn't like makes him cool. Basically he's a faggot.
>>288342497The movie and novel were made at the same time with the movie being the main attraction. That said, the novel expands on a few elements like Iroha's family situation and Yachiyo's 8,000 year journey so it's worth reading if you like the movie.
Classroom of the elite is getting at least 2 more seasons
>>288341722They're extremely cheap in japan compared to elsewhere. 4-5 bucks vs 15-20ish in the USA.
>>288341722i have read rozen maiden lns because i am so rozen maiden-starved
>>288346766>t.gets his recommendations from booktok
>>288341722Has Renako surpassed Frieren?
Some. Not very much. >>288341825"Proper novels" don't give you the same thing as LNs do (plus there's nothing keeping you from reading both). And I wouldn't read a manga adaptation of a LN without reading the source first just like I wouldn't watch an anime adaptation of a manga before reading the manga.
>>288341722What makes Light Books so much better?
>>288341722>Watanare that highwhy?
>>288351878Nice desu
>>288356511Yurifags have horribly low standards. Can confirm. Am yurifag.
I've read all of Spice And Wolf.Well kinda, it's still being released.
>>288341722"Yuri" LN sounds so fucking boring idk how that shit even popular in the first place.
>>288356640I'm a yurifag too, but I never understood why Watanare is popular, it's so fucking bad.
>>288356640Watanare isn't popular just from yurifags alone. It's also easily better junk food than most other straight harem romcoms these days.>>288356511>>288356720/a/ probably isn't the best place to gauge why something is or isn't popular. But if I had to guess: it's because the series combines many aspects that are popular among both the straight harem crowd (a lucky kind-of-pathetic otaku protagonist that gets girls far out of their league) and the yuri crowd (a fast paced romance that features lots of intimacy and relationships between girls) both of which don't act as turn-offs to the other fanbase. The harem is also a unique identifier to people who are only sort-of familiar with the yuri genre. If you don't expect yuri to have harems, then it's much harder to writer off as just another yuri series right away without checking it out, which is going to draw in more people.
>>288341722What's the top ten best-selling novels in 2026 (no pictures)?
>>288352906How dare social media keep the medium of books alive. How dare it. Roar.
>>288341722Sure, a books a book. Some of these series are longer than "proper" books.
>>288341722>le unironically XD KYS ironic weeb
Yup I started reading and got caught up on Buying My Classmate for 5000 yen a Week, it's amazing I love it! Miyagi so cute, keep fighting Sendai!
>>288341722I do.
>>288351207>Isekai smartphone sequel top 14Lets gooo
>>288359858Top 15 im retarded
>>288341722I read, toradora, haganai and IS and my desire to engage with the medium never recovered.
>>288341722I'm mildly curious about Strait Jacket, since it has no translations for either the manga adaptation or the original novels.Setting seems cool from some of the descriptions regarding the LN setting, since the OVA barely had much
