>>288367687Not really. Mao himself seems to think that he's basically just making use of the Byouki's natural ayakashi longevity, and the kodoku soup I guess works because the Byouki is also a kodoku. Eating progressively stronger kodoku is basically how you strengthen a kodoku, after all.

But it's magic, so who can say.Since Taisho is relatively close to the present, I've personally thought about him just waiting until he hits modern day and reuniting with Nanoka that way, but that would be stupid in all sorts of entertaining ways.

And they discuss how in addition to acquiring the artifacts, they need to also recruit people who are actually capable of them due to affinity (like that mask guy whose face got ripped off) or presumably being due to the skill being passed down in the family (Kagari, Sasuga, Souma to an extent). Presumably Kagari and Ayame have been trained in the background knowledge necessary to use the needle since they were children.
