A marriage, mind you, that turned out surprisingly nice and loving for a good number of years, until Touya started showing signs of mental illness and and a tendency for self harm despite nobody forcing him into it.It's hilarious to see Endeavor actually react in a very sane way to the news of his son's condition initially. Heartbroken about his dreams, certainly, but also very firmly putting his son's health above his ego and puting a stop to the project. Enji's sudden idea that having more kids would calm Touya down later down the line is probably the dumbest part of the whole backstory, a complete non sequitur that is very clearly Hori's clumsy attempt to connect this reasonable Endeavor with his pre-retcon crazy version.
