Dr. Rushed Stone
>stealing al gore's idea
>>288384867The ending arcs have some of the most interesting tech and it's all rushed/montaged. Disappointment of a manga
>>288386403I hope one day they make an entire season/OVA series of crafting filler. I just rewatched the fireworks episode at the end of Treasure Island and it easily passes as "real material." I was hoping this season the anime would fix the rushed pacing of the manga but it seems that is not going to be the case.
Imagine the random garbage getting snuck into the final version

>>288384828>>288384867This season in a nutshell
Cool application of petrificationBut imagine if the revival system fails lol
If they want to train Senku's stamina why not make him have nonstop sex with Kohaku? It would be the most effective method
Shouldn't these characters look older by now
>>288386823Nikki is right there though.

Cool
>>288384828Did Sai vibecode a video codec or are they just sending composite video over intercontinental cables and calling it internet?
Felt really bad for him here
>>288387023Perhaps there was existing sea cable infrastructure? Setting up those is years long project.
>>288386844 >>288386862>standard size containers>but clothes are still tanned leather or roughly cut cloththey're also hacking any semblance of human development with a bit of ramen after work
>>288386926Should there be anything underneath? Or has she been domesticated to wear (black) underwear?
>>288384697Bullshit, the internet is made in Australia, mixed and then shipped to Ireland to be blessed. Then the pure internet is approved by Bill Gates before being shipped. Everybody knows that.
>>288387023I don't know how tech works but I assumed they basically built 2-way analog television and called it internet, not an actual internet protocol.
>>288386883whats with the dick sucking lips
>>288387778They're for sucking dicks, what about them?
>>288387336It is just sexier that way. They are smart after all.
>>288388410kohaku absolutely, i will agree about kohaku.
>>288387336>anime watcher discoverers that fictional characters rarely change clothesWhat's next?
>>288388484Are you implying Yuzuriha isn't?
>>288387336The author is just too lazy to make character design changes and have everyone permanently wear modern clothing once they have the technology to mass produce them.
Will we one day get an anime that has this concept (man from the modern age is "totally not isekai'd because it doesn't have fantasy [except it does] and it the same planet cannot be like another world metaphorically" and teaches the people from "totally-the-same-world" about technology) except good?Dr. Stone is so terribly written that it is impossible to parody. It cheapens every implementation of every technological progress that happens on screen because it's all>hehe I am super smart>everyone else just does the work perfectly using their infinite energy, infinite resistance to disease [in before "um excuse me, he cured a fever in the first season"] and infinite robot-like dedication to The Cause>literally 0 tension, 0 steaks, 0 hardships, progress just happens if you know heckin chungus science
>>288384867In a just world, the manga wouldn't even get adapted past season 1 or maybe 2. But this is funded by Japanese taxpayers because it's "educational" or something
>>288387023>Did Sai vibecode a video codecYou really think that's an impossibilty at this point and pace?
>>288386823Kohaku has sexually transmitted diseases from all the unprotected sex she engaged in with Magma, Magma's ugly little bro, and every other ugly male villager in the Rope'd Village. This is a canon fact in the manga by the way.

>>288388509rimuru tempest changes clothes all the time in the manga, and in the anime he does it 'sometimes' for plot relevant clothes like kohaku here, but unlike kohaku he goes through base design changes over time.so it's not a hard rule. and since i have tasted the difference, i now long for it.
HI, AMERICAN FUCKS
>>288386967JESUS
>>288386823>>288386883revival fluid be damned, Nikki's womb would be all a man needs to restore civilization
>>288384867Bureaucracy is 99% of what takes to make something anyways, remove that and we would make entire cities or anything in weeks, look at drug cartels building shit from one day to the other and everyone is like "HOW"
>>288384697The Internet is notThe Internet is not a big truck
>>288386545yeah the anime-original content is fantastic. The freeze-dried food links up with season 1, since you are reusing the vacuum technology (for a different purpose!) and also the ramen. The fireworks is a great (albeit inconsequential) way of using gunpowder, and it shows Soyuz mobilising Treasure Island to do a project. This adds credibility to the idea that he can make revival fluid, a radio station and 10 years later, build a launchpad.I think you're hoping for too much sadly. I don't see how the anime-makers could justify the expense now that the manga has ended.Inagaki could maybe return to make an 80-page oneshot, but I'm not sure if he would pull a modulo and write 25-chapters of high-level science stuff. It's probably way harder to turn high level science stuff into a layman-ready format.Release that Witch was another nice engineering story that is a bit narrower and deeper than Dr.Stone, though it also suffers from only showing the design/use of technology and doesn’t show the actual damn thing being assembled en masse.
>>288387023i think it's all analogthe cables had like 40 linesmaybe each line belongs to one location/is hardcoded for one location, thus obviating the need for even circuit switching
>>288391640I honestly didn't realize the freeze-dried food was filler, great example. The fireworks have value in addition to what you mentioned because they are a memorial for the dead, and it comes at the end of the arc centered around the island society and treasures that Byakuya founded and left behind. Narratively it also helps sell that everybody on treasure island will be pro-science after Senku leaves because they immediately see direct benefits just like Ishigami village did. Also it's a call-back to Chrome's flame reactions when he first met Senku. Overall it ties a lot together nicely.
>>288387336oh wait yeah containerisaton pogalso it's because yuzuriha is a fraud
>>288391157>>288389419Small business
>>288388712I can forgive Dr. Stone for bad writing because using science as both your primary conflict solving tool and the indicator of progress imposes such stringent constraints on what kind of story you can write. You must devise a series of obstacles that need to be solved with increasingly complex science, whilst keeping the audience engaged with the science and building on previous science to prevent it from feeling disconnected
>internet working perfectly fine for years>suddenly everyone changes to fiber>it start to work like shitAnd this is why I refuse to change.
KOHAKU SEXO
So how many years have passed in anime since this season started 3-4?
>>288391944many, but also none at all since no one aged
>>2883919446-7
>>288391960Everyone is already a grown up, any change would be too small to be visible in the land of anime, except for Mirai, now that's the one the author just forgot...
>invent and lay undersea cables within 5 minutes>Nikki-powered astronaut training
>>288392000That's what I was thinking because Suika was reaching the age she was supposed to look now when everyone got pretified lol
>>288391944According to the official timeline, Suika revives Senku in August 5749 and the current episode is June 5754, so 5 years.
>>288388712>totally not isekai'd because it doesn't have fantasy [except it does] and it the same planet cannot be like another world metaphoricallyI'm confused. Does it have fantasy beyond the isekai element at the start? Is it earth or similar to earth in geography, flora/fauna and physics?Anyway I question whether there's any media in general that fits your bill.Neither an uberscientist nor an engineer could write it because most of the challenges will arise from the low level stuff like how to fabricate things, the precise nature of the available goods in that society, and local/regional geography. This requires the knowledge of front-line workers from hundreds of years ago, that probably died within their generation. The author of such a work would not only need to have a vast understanding of current science and technology and industry, but also know about all those historical techniques that became completely redundant and stopped getting written about hundreds of years ago, if they were ever written to begin with.I hear, for example, that the history of precision manufacturing is rather spotty.Though I suppose you don't have to be perfect and a decent author can fill in gaps.
>>288392114>>288391963>>288392000Alway found it funny that even in the epilogue chapters they all look the same even though it's like a year after the main story is over

>>288392448um, your spoilers?
>>288392448wait that's such a shit mapyou can super easily solve it backwards
>>288392171>I'm confused. Does it have fantasy beyond the isekai element at the start?Yes.> Is it earth or similar to earth in geography, flora/fauna and physics?Similar in geography and flora, not as much in physics and fauna (the fantasy element in the silently-superpowered teenagers who can perform biologically and physically impossible tasks).>Anyway I question whether there's any media in general that fits your bill.Cope. I don't read books because I am a proud African-American but even I know about Mark Twain's "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court" which has obviously better writing than this crap, and Jules Verne also wrote something similar, minus the time travel.>Neither an uberscientist nor an engineerSure, but a good or even an above average writer easily could and probably did.>The author of such a work would not only need to have a vast understanding of current science and technology Why? Because you're gonna strawman that the only way to make a work in [any form of media] that's like Dr. Stone except well written it must also have an understanding of science and technology that's way unreasonably exponentially above the understanding of the Dr. Stone manga writer?Just as a hypothetical experiment, you could just hire some random decently educated "heckin science" promoter and mix him with a talented shonen mangaka (i.e. Togashi, Araki, Fujimoto - the only three male writers who made good battle shonen) and voila, you have a manga that's instantly a 1000x better than Dr. Stone.
>>288387126Both options are gonna use sea cables, what changes is the signals going through them>>288387734So, a video codec is needed to make online video viable. Since uncompressed video takes huge amounts of storage. You basically analyze the video and discard redundant parts, this lets you do things like have Full HD video be a few gigabytes per hour instead of a few gigabytes per second>>288388915No, but both situations I suggested are possible, but without enough evidence to support either>>288391748Seems likely but without an actual diagram those 40 pins could be anything
I want to breed Kohaku
So they've been slaving away on building a space program for over 2 decades. Why isn't anyone married or having kids? Has the petrification device calcified their hormone glands?

>>288393726yeah fair point I was strawmanningI'm not sure if you'd be satisfied with Release that Witch. The monologue-less anime is worse that the novel. Also desu I can't tell what constitutes good writing.

>>288391016Ehhh, it can be excessive, but getting rid of it entirely leads you to shit like favelas

>>288386988>Senku and Ryuusui get machetes>Kohaku gets a gun???
>>288387028I was about to make a post pointing out that Ryusui is really good on a lot of things, but surely they could find a better pilot around the world and then got to this scene...
>>288395987They're busy building a rocket, they can't afford THREE guns
>>288396574When you think about it a gun is just a mini rocket

if you're this bored just close the tab and go do something else
>>288399277But I'm not bored
>>288391016>look at drug cartels building shit from one day to the other and everyone is like "HOW"Mostly by ignoring safety considerations. That bureaucracy is really important if you want to do something like go to the moon.Everything has to be planned, considered, tested, and trained for, down to the most minute details. So there are always 3 scripted backup plans for any issue.
>>288384828How many years has Senku aged after getting depetrified at this point? They keep skipping through years of work in moments. He's gotta be in his 20's by now.
why does everyone still look the same after years
>>288386403>The ending arcs have some of the most interesting tech and it's all rushed/montaged.That's because the tech they're currently building can't be build by less than a dozen people unlike before. They need thousands upon thousands of people crafting together, working in mines, factories and fields slaving away for months. That's not fun.
>>288400193they should at least show all those mines and factories then ;-;
>>288393726>Just as a hypothetical experiment, you could just hire some random decently educated "heckin science" promoter and mix him with a talented shonen mangakathat's exactly what happened with Dr.Stone you retard. The manga creators is a 3-man team. A science consultant, a writer, and an artist that is knowledgeable about sci-fiThis is the best you can get
>>288400235that's an unfortunate side effect of selling this manga as a "science in stone-age" story. If they were to build modern buildings and wear modern clothes, this wouldn't be dr.stone anymore.Plus it would be too depressing to know that they just forced people into incredible tedious manual labor and not have Gen be the comic relief going "Whaaaat? We have to do this 10 million times for 3 years straight?!!"
>>288400302>science in stone-ageeh I think that would just make it even more impactful. A story is supposed to add onto its starting state, until it's very different. You could still achieve that same effect by making the buildings very simple and lacking in flourishes (e.g. road markings, lampposts)>manual labourtrue it would require a careful hand to not make the audience dwell too heavily on the impact of chrome's willmaybe show the workers all very cheery and don't give them meaningful dialogue
Great now they can shitpost in the stone worldo
>>288384828>>288386686what got me in the manga and still does is that they already build rockets and ships, but still wear rags, animal hide and REFUSE to make shoes
>>288400677that's just aesthetics for marketing reasons, They've got modern clothes since season 2. Same reason for the "scars" which are just painted on now.
>>288400687I have no problem with stone crack marks, but come on. Half the cast uses burlap sacs for shoes, why the guys they saw on the "internet" screens wear business suits with ties
>>288400709once again, they have modern clothes. Think of it as an AI filter over the manga/anime. They are always wearing modern clothes, but the filter makes them look like season 1 for marketing purposes.>I have no problem with stone crack marksthen you're just a hypocrite. You really think they have the luxury and nerves to apply this paintshop on almost every morning? It's just as unrealistic as expecting them to not wear modern clothes
>>288400770The marks are clearly scar tissue embedded on their skin I decided. The clothes not changing to modern superior versions while weapons and vehicles keep changing in an anime about progress and improvement makes no sense and your AI filter is a way bigger leap in logic than mine.
>>288400797You're so fucking retarded.I said THINK OF IT as an AI filter, not that it is an AI filter.Suspension of disbelief, ever heard of it? They have modern clothes available, they can wear them anytime, and they have already worn them a few times. They just don't because it doesn't look interesting to us manga readers/anime watchers. Just like the scars.>The marks are clearly scar tissue embedded on their skinhasn't been on most of the main characters since season 3>I decidedthus hypocrite
>>288399493He's like 30 lol
>>288384697>pipesIt's tubes you esl 3rd world newfag.
So you all agree that the main problem of this main cour is that>There's a ~5 years timescape with no change in the character designs nor anyone's personal development>Science just happens way too fast and off-screen, ignoring several themes such as new countries being createdHow could you solve this last cour then, anon?
>>288401348I don't know how much was changed in the anime since I only read the manga but imo the science and progression was always what interested me in the series, and all the arcs that are "battle" arcs were significantly less interesting. To keep the same length but improve on all the science by showing more of it onscreen, the solution would be reducing the length of the battle arcs or even eliminating them if possible. But if we can't make retroactive changes, just double the length of this cour and make the science more on screen. I certainly wouldn't complain to get more of it since that's what drew me to the series anyways
>>288400916>I said THINK OF IT as an AI filterI wont. Dont tell me what to do and I wont tell you where to go.>hypocriteprojecting much?

>>288402043>Are you implying that Araki or Togashi or Fujimoto wouldn't write a better manga under the same circumstance?Way too out yourself as a normie, they would make it even worse. >>288402082>normie>not normalfagNOT ONE OF USNOT ONE OF US
>>288402002There are small breadcrumbs in each chapter, like in this one, it shows Xeno working on the final design of the rocket. However, they are mostly still frames that aren't being flesh out at all. Seriously, this last part should've been 24 episodes at least. The episode that finally broke me was the Aluminum episode where they never show how to make it, other than the 1-frame roadmap (just like the manga).
>>288402082Just as I predicted, the spineless maggot tries to grab onto my tactically placed "retard trap".>Though considering you choose those three names of all mainstream mangaka>>288393726>(i.e. Togashi, Araki, Fujimoto - the only three male writers who made good battle shonen)So, what is it gonna be now, coward? More empty platitudes like "they would make it even worse" (no explanation given how, just NPC saying something)? Are you gonna pretend there are better battle shonen? I picked battle shonen because that is the lowest common denominator in manga genre on purpose, so your impotent "mainstream mangaka" cope falls flat.Go on, out yourself and tell us what shit taste you have by naming """better""" battle shonen writers.
>>288402122everybody already learns how to make aluminium in highschool metallurgy class. the invention process was only interesting early on because they had to make do without modern tools. Now they have modern tools and just do everything the same way they were done the first time around so there's nothing to see
>>288384828that's been a lot of this season, as things got more complex they basically handwaved a lot of the time and labor required and even intermediate steps. they needed tens of thousands of miles of submarine communication cables, so they have it, it has some rubber in it, moving on. when they made RAM using magnetic cores i thought they'd go over the ROM equivalent because it's pretty interesting, you take those little magnets and weave every 1 and 0 by hand to create your read only memory software. if it goes through the core it's a 1, if it goes around the core it's a 0. they even had that girl whose really good at weaving that i thought would be used for it.
>>288395439modern websites are like 95% just bloat. you can't even build a simple website by modern webdev standards without downloading a couple gigs of dependencies which also have a lot of their own dependencies to download.
>>288402850>thousands of miles of submarine communication cables, so they have it, it has some rubber in it, moving onarent those supposed to be optic fiber instead of unrealistic amounts of copper that would take tens of millions of living people to produce?
>>288404200modern cables use fiber optic, but they're using copper like he earliest telegraph lines used.
>>288402122oh yeah they could have had a great callback with the electrolysis from season oneI think the audience and crew would find it really cool that you can do electrolysis on molten metals
>>288402850why not just use read-write memory as your ROM too?
>>288405228for certain essential programs you don't want them to change, ever. it should be physically impossible for a 1 to become a 0 or vice versa screwing everything up. the apollo mission used rope memory for its navigation and landing programs. it'd take months to program each module.
>>288405228>why not just use read-write memory as your read-only memory
>>288391880I switched to fiber 7 years ago and never had any issues. Don't be an old man afraid of change.
>>288405267i seeeh desu it's just a corollary to iron core memory so I don't mind it getting glossed overiron core memory is already heavily playing into yuzuriha's fine motor skills
>>288405228There are some cases IRL where this is actually done. Nintendo cartridges from the DS onwards (I think some late GBA releases as well) use flash memory but set it as read only. This is fine for shit like vidya since under normal circumstances, the chance it fucks up is really small, but for mission critical stuff like a spaceship, it's 100% what >>288405267 said.
