When choosing a spouse in old Japan you had to always really think about how good they'd be at killing themselves before marrying them. A blind woman couldn't commit honorable and 100% rational seppuku over a minor slight properly. So she was only fit for a peasant or merchant man. Not a samurai.

I think you can use that for someone who just started to become a Buddhist monk, but you can also use that to describe someone who is bald. The main kanji for Buddhist monk is 僧 (sou).In Italian you would use the word "bonzo" for a monk, but they translated this chapter title using the word "il calvo" (bald/hairless). So I think the chapter title is supposed to be making fun of Miyoshi Seikai for being bald.
