You can make out the plot by the shape of the holes but it's not a deliberate thing, it's just told and paced really poorly. Which is a shame because it has a number of good individual scenes, but they feel more like pictures connected by string on a schizo's conspiracy board than portions of a story that flow into each other.

As if skill is the only factor in this magic system they've established is only facilitated by highly controlled equipment that should be readily confiscated, and won't even look down incase there's some illicit magical equipment involved in this apparently highly illegal magic just laying in the sand near their feet where the girl's teacher can just look down later and see it. After that I realized the author isn't just writing dumb young girls but it dumb herself. I still watched more and this was followed up with the teacher using confirmed tampered ink with zero precautions, and the revelation that while magic can make jars unbreakable no has ever thought to figure out how to affix lables to them or even tie the string they're attached too a little tighter or get lids with a wider handle so they don't slip off when it falls over. No, they all had to fall off because color blindness is a disability and having a disability means you can't possibly think a step ahead. I wouldn't be so annoyed by these thoughtless developments if the story didn't seem to take itself so seriously. At least it is nice to look at.
