He stole the show anytime he got spotlight, his rants and emotional breakdowns were absolutely hilarious and despite that he managed to be a cool antagonist you could take seriously. By comparisson Meruem while a good character became a serious strong guy after his development and wasn't that fun as a result; Pitou didn't do much in the invasion besides being fisted by megachad Gon and Youpi had potential for something more but his character arc got canned at the end. Pouf remains the best of the quartet as a result. I don't lie when I say he's easily in my top 5 favorite HxH charas.

I've been reading for the first time through the Shonen Jump app. I tried watching the cartoon on adult swim as a kid and was really turned off by it, but I like reading the comic a lot.The whole exam arc is fun. I love how a lot of classic comics are about the author explaining how games and logic puzzles work to you diegeticly. The Greed Island arc is fine. The cards kinda took up too much focus right after establishing nen as it's own power system. I pushed right ahead into the Chimera Ants arc, and looking back I should have probably taken a break at the end of Greed. I got a bit burnt out and took a bread half way through the Ants. Overall though, I really enjoyed it. I think the Ants play off nen much better than the GI cards. I kinda wish the various Ants played into their animal bodies more, so we can get some more of that good fun fact autism, but it's not a big disappointment or anything. The narrator just kinda describes the emotions the characters are already feeling on the page. That's not great and I wonder if it wouldn't be improved by replacing the omniscient narrator with the characters' internal monologs. I see this dark continent they're hyping up is probably the next big arc, so I'm gonna take another break here. It was fun to see Liorio again. I hope he gets to play a bigger role again soon. Same with Kurapika, since it looks like he got a lot of his family back in that one panel. Alluka seems cute and I wonder how her power will develop. I doubt she'll become a punch jockey like Gon and Killua. I like when main characters get to be weird support types.Also, man, Neferpitou was barely a tertiary character. They really only get so much fan art because of how hot people find him, huh? I was really expecting her to play a bigger role.
