I don't think I liked this chapter, Hyakkanobros. Uncle Hiro has always been a fucking goober, but he looks TOO pathetic in this chapter you be endearing. So I was looking at Nakamura's own Tomodachi posts and clips he made for some inspiration and I noticed something very peculiar.First here's a quick tidbit about the game, you can set the birthdays and ages in the game so they can appear displayed in news reports and get special bday cutscenes, additionally you can make them age in real time or not age at all. I set the minimum age for all my kanodachis to 18 so they can all count as adults and won't get any functionality and interactivity with the adults locked behind age.However Nakamura also manually put in the ages of his island, and I noticed in a clip he shared of a news broadcast, that instead of 15 for all of the first years he made, Hasuha's is interestingly enough set at 16 while Meme is still 15, and Momiji is already at 15 as a JC3. This isn't due to the fact that in the real world their birthdays already happened this year too because aside from how some of those were posted before their bdays this year, he set the game so they don't age in real time too since Hahari's bday announcement in the game didn't change her age from 29.I wouldn't really say Nakamura's little shitpost island is definitive proof of canon age or time in the manga or anything, I don't think anything is truly canon until it's written out on paper and published, but it is kind of neat as sort of a window of how he as the creator interprets how old they already are, as well as where he thinks they are in the school year. I'm not an expert on the Japanese school calendar system and how cutoffs work, I only vaguely remember someone saying how Saki was born one minute before the school year cut off was, but with Hasuha being 16 and Momiji at 15, this seems to indicate that Nakamura views the story currently being at least past May 21 (I may be wrong though because again I don't know how school age admission works).
