It's bad because it's not what I wanted it to be. Yes I am an entitled brat who throws tantrums whem mom doesn't buy me chicken tendies.
>>288422836lurk moar newfag
>>288422836Because it's really not bad. It's just the genocidal freaks who missed the exact point of the story, who ever said it's bad.
>>288422836It's just like the ending to the boys, the villain wants to kill 80% of the world, and they stopped him, that's why it's shit!
hello I'm the second IP in this thread
Time travel executed poorly.
>>288423184where the fuck are you getting time travel from
>>288422891>>288422905>>288422918>>288422972Again these are memes. I'm talking about an honest discussion without memes
>>288422836The creator himself said it was bad.
>>288422836It's over. Get over it and move on.
>>288422836the series was never goodit had an amazing first episode and somehow managed to pull 3 more seasons out of its ass from it
>>288423345>please homosexually indulge in my debate fetish
I'm watching Bokurano and I hit the episode where they're all like "uwu, it's so sad, how could we possibly save our entire universe at the expense of another"ruined an otherwise perfectly fine episode; they just had to go with that disingenuous forced le sad bullshit. If you're going to rape and murder my friends, I'm not going to spend 15 minutes waffling thinking to myself "being forced into a position of murder is heckin' unfortunate bros...:'("
>>288422836It was fine especially with the anime fixing the worst parts.
>>288422836We had many many many already. I literally played part in these to explain how the whole final arc is so badly written.Fuck , there is literally a whole essay called “what is wrong with SnK’s ending” that has been shared many times here on /a/
>>288422836It was bad before, the end is just where it revealed itself to everyone that hadn't caught on yet. In theory, AOT should have been a masterpiece. But it completely fails at managing audience expectations and constantly breaks its promises to the audience. That's why it felt so wrong and stupid bu the conclusion, because it had been written in a way to make a whole lot of processes that it never fulfilled and instead delivered a ton of stuff that we never asked for and went against what were told was coming.
>>288422836Dude, the creator himself apologized multiple times and there were hundreds of threads. "Ymir knows," "10 years," "I don't know," "Thank you Eren"—those are memes because those are awful narrative decisions. It was a bad ending because the series itself was basically a mystery box that, when it had to reveal itself, didn't know how, with a mediocre cast. Crap like Ymir, Eren's plan, random deaths, pointless plot twists, an underdeveloped cast, rushed pacing, shonen clichés... I could argue for hours, so let's focus on something small: Mikasa. A bad character who is introduced as a "strong" girl but with mental problems, problems that the creator himself introduces as something negative, and in the end, they are presented not only as the solution to the conflict that lasted for centuries, but as "true love." A character who contributed nothing to the plot other than being a background character killer and who never had any self-awareness. A character whose only subplot was completely useless and who was poorly handled in the anime for not including the necessary foreshadowing. A character who, supposedly, was part of the initial trio. 95% of the characters in SnK are mediocre, and that doesn't matter when the plot twists and shock value were well executed, but when it came to self-conclusion, it didn't work. It's simply the most normalfaggot anime because it's a battle shonen with a serious appearance, constant shock (often unnecessary), and a narrative simplicity... that ultimately killed it. It was that bad and another good literacy test that 90% of the internet can't even read.
>>288423202Eren's whole situation with the paths is basically time travel and it sucked.
>>288422836>that didn’t involve memesMemes are a summarization of the problems, you can't invalidate an argument because it's behind a meme
>>288425020I always thought the characters being all around lower tier made it better for them because you could never tell who was going to be the next idiot chomped by a titan but then it got hella gay with all the loli ymir Mikasa shit
>>288422836And we are probably never going to, does it even need to be discussed with how abundant the issues are? Even without memes it's long over.
Everything after they killed all the titans was boring
>>288423345Memes are discussion
>>288422993Hello fourth IP in this thread, I'm the thirteenth IP in this thread
>>288429842No
I see someone who is still butthurt because their favorite anime ended like shit and is universally hated as a result made a thread to seethe and cope on his own
>rewatching the show>everything after the timeskip feels rushed
>>288424034>>288429842No debates, only healthy discussion
>>288430286Again, without meme, let's talk like humans
>>288422836Isayama couldn't commit. He shoukd have made Eren either a full blown villain that needed to be put down like a dog or a true byronic hero that killed his own friends and the rest of the world to defend his home and placate his own bloodlust. He tried to do both and it just muddied water. He also made Armin too squeeky clean.I would have respected the alliance more if they were 100% down to sacrifice historia and her children if it meant that they could avoid war.But now they just sat on their hands untill Eren forced them to make the hard call to start the rumbling.I also fucking hate that he killed his own mom and it just seemed to me that he was just sabotaging his own protagonist and story at that point.
>>288431278>He shoukd have made Eren either a full blown villainI don't understand why are you a villain when literally everyone wants to kill you, what are you supposed to do? Just die?
>>288422836>No memes respond:Marley arc in general was not good and dragged the story. The story writing quality dropped a lot after the timeskip. People who witnessed Eren's journey were unhappy how his story was handled. They wanted happier ending to character they followed for so long. The ending is too happy at times, like comically so. Humor at the end didn't stick it's landing to many. Many characters got done dirty and some got too much (undeserved). General feeling: melancholy, apathy. What was even the point of SnK
>>288422836The entire story was doomed from the moment Eren became a titan, and it did a triple axel over the shark when Isayama let fame go to his head and started to turn his shallow zombie-hunting series into a "deep" commentary on politics and war. People acting like the ending ruined everything are coping and ignoring how bad the rest of the story already was.
>>288422836Only Ymir knows.
>>288422836Eren was the protagonist so inverting him into a villain when nothing actually changed to make him the bad guy was dogshitIf I was supposed to root against Eren the author shouldn’t have made the rest of the world immensely irredeemably evil Even the jap stand ins only wanted eldia for resources and didn’t like the people who lived there
>>288432152>If I was supposed to root against ErenI never understood the concept of rooting for a fictional character. The story will happen regardless
>>288422836It wasn't the ending that was bad. It was the entire thing. Only fags ever liked this.
>>288431317I think that falls into the whole "making Eren the villain", if Isayama wanted to make Eren a true irredeemable villain, he shouldn't have made things so hopeless and grim for Paradis and the protagonists that the main character had no choice but to take the most drastic option possible because it was pretty much the only real one they had if they wanted to survive.
Did they change the final movie ending? I only read the manga.
>>288434039>Did they change the final movie ending?A little, like making the carpet bombing happen way into the future
>>288422836I think the future/past mind thing set the story on a bad course even before the ending, but with that fuck-up fully present I still mostly liked the ending. Eren being just a scared, terrified child who finally breaks down crying and whining about petty jealousies being afraid to die felt very human to me. I think it's far superior to every other wish people had for him, even if it's unsatisfying in terms of grandiose ending we were heading towards. Some things felt off but in the end I still think the story was handled really well and stayed true to its initial themes.
>>288422836>why this ending was badit's not.>>288422918>It's just the genocidal freaksaka edgelords.
