Man, all this flashback padding is getting a bit silly. They expanded what was maybe four panels of light recapping in the manga into about a minute and a half, not to even mention that they just replayed two minutes of the previous episode at the start.

An unexpected turn with Hamon, I thought he's gonna be a mid bad for the first part of the manga. Same with Hyakka, really. I like this idea of finding the apprentices one by one as it introduces a new mystery to solve. Rumiko once again subverts shonen tropes into something interesting.

A bit too many recaps this episode though. Not a very good sign production wise, hopefully they'll stick the landing.
