I don't like the kind of magical girl series Sailor Moon pioneered (or at least popularized, Cutey Honey was also about fighting bad guys but still isn't that similar to Sailor Moon). I much prefer the ones that lean more on slice of life and wacky hijinks over fighting evil.

It's especially bad in the manga (mostly the chapters after the final conflict is resolved and parts of Codename Sailor V) because Takeuchi seems to be incapable of writing slice of life conflicts. Even in chapters where she tries to do it it ends up being about fighting something or someone. The anime is better with this but it still ultimately boils down to "bad guy shows up, good guy team beats them".
