So yeah no, subs are mostly dogshit, manga translations are mostly dogshit, light novel translations are mostly dogshit, and the people in denial are all far too invested in the time sink to ever acknowledge it which is why subtitles will never improve. They probably won't ever be as bad as dubs but that is just because most dubs are just taking the sub script and rewriting that, so its 2 layers of localization at that point instead of 1.
