Is there any retired mangaka/artist that you miss
Kishimoto’s art, when he’s on, is so good.
>>288465493I read this as "retarded" at firstanyways, I'd say Satoko KiyuzukiI don't know if she's fully retired but I haven't heard anything about her for a while
Good ol' Kaz...
>>288465744>I don't know if she's fully retired but I haven't heard anything about her for a whileShe's in the same place as Mo
>>288465493Kenji Tsuruta
>>288466185To think he drew a short series of pages about a fisherman drowning and getting picked up by an ocean goddess shortly before drowning to death from a rip current.
>>288466252rip Le Paradis
>>288466293>rip Le ParadisBouken Erekitetou, Emanon, Captain Momo. Has he ever completed a series?
Shirow.Actually I'd like to have this whole style of high-effort but still not dead serious scifi/fantasy manga back.
>>288465493Daromeon
>>288466380Actually, while we're there, why not Ryusuke Mita.If anyone can recommend more manga in this style, I'm listening.
Ashinano
Bisco Hatori's (Ouran, among others) last manga ended in 2018. There's nothing about her being retired but she hasn't done anything new at least. >>288466293I wonder what Aoki Ume is going to do. She was reliably putting out Binetsu Kuukan chapters in this magazine but there hasn't been a new Hidamari Sketch chapter in like a year and a half at this point. And now that magazine is gone. That and panpayna.
Semi-related, but I do like with the rise of social media in the last decade that artists likely won't just disappear completely. A doodle once a month or just posting your breakfast is all I need. Hate when my favorite authors leave and never show up again. I just want to know they are doing alright.
>>288467203Jun Sakura has a twitter and they still disappeared for 5 years
>>288467203Eh, some artists just aren't social media peopleI'd imagine the recent mess with Urana's made some other mangaka more wary about posting online too
>>288466188She died?
>>288465493>Is there any retired mangaka/artist that you missWe have a bunch of legendary mangakas with 0 translations and you still want to complain?
>>288470921that's easily fixed by learning Japanese
>>288466493>>288466746Kerororo!?
>>288467545Yeah fair enough, but I still believe it is nice as a proof of life from the occasional repost or like. I'm not asking they start vlogging or anything. It may sound parasocial, but it makes me a little nervous when people just disappear. Happened a lot with youtubers I watched a decade ago who just left for years. I don't need new content or your life story, just to know you are alive and well.
