>>288483571This. Makes me wonder what new tech will come out of WW3
>>288483522This shit (I'm saying it affectionately) is incredibly popular on Manga plus. Is it the same in Japan?
>>288483265>>288483284That sucks. Having your efforts disregarded but your failures complimented.

>>288483850Ah that makes sense
>>288483571Aye, Hitoshi is trying so hard to not give them too much and start the bloody road to advancement with a much more innocent society. He's like Gandalf among the Hobbits.

When will Hitoshi start telling those dark stories about Earth? For that to happen, Tonelico needs to drag him into bed

Unless he means the cooling channels, but I don't think they're small and few enough to get significantly blocked unless you have a gigantic amount of hairs in your fuel tanks.
So if they didn't develop combustion do they not have guns?

>>288483921Nonsense. I will need detailed evidence to believe such a claim.
So to wholly conceive of a combustion engine from scratch Ham was actually an incredible genius utterly wasted and demoralized by his society, right? He's just like me.
>>288485240He should be shown some more advanced methods later.
>read manga for CAT SEX>it's actually good on its own merits>but I still want CAT SEX
>>288485290You'll get Tonelico wrapping herself around Hito's calves and YOU WILL LIKE IT.
>>288485290Maybe it needs a spinoff started in the future to solve that problem, using the human POV.
>>288484645I think basically the issue is their society is too safe. To integrate so many species together peacefully they've had to be extremely cautious and possible points of tension are just discarded. You saw how dangerously they regarded Hitoshi and how most of them just wanted to get rid of him. That's probably how they've dealt with any potentially dangerous development for centuries. That means their lives are peaceful but they miss many possible advancements.
>>288485326Isn't there a doujin of this where kot's sister NTRs her?
>>288483812Remember they're having a "global cooling" problem anon.

>>288485514like most SJ+ titles it was only weekly to for a bit to get attention, the plan was always biweekly
>>288485514it was always gonna be bi-weekly, it was just weekly at first to get people hooked
>>288484330heh
>>288483284And that's how they survive efficiently and don't live in a energetic crisis. This manga is a huge cockslap to humanity lol
>>288485627I'm guessing they don't have slave labor?
Rockets are nice and all and the pig's story was surprisingly relatable, but yeah, this manga's about cat and sex with cat.
>>288485627Now apply this to medicine. How many millions more are dead?
>>288483346I was wondering how Hitoshi was supposed to return to his ship, it turns out his spacesuit can handle it.But it also makes me wonder if it could help him speak kemo language somehow.

>>288483522This is just planet of the apes but with animals isn't it...
>>288485022Their mutual species-society does not seem to have fought any relevant wars since ancient times, and the countries seem to be continents who are all somewhat isolated distance wise, so no real border conflicts. So the likelyhood of them having developed guns seems to be low.
>>288483298Imagine wanting to become an engineer who propels animalkind to new heights, but you're forced to become a bureaucrat.
>>288483481At least now they can build a rocket ship industry and boost the economy.

>>288483152I would cum in her with the force of 10,000 licks
>>288483504She's a dummy and doesn't actually understand the scientific discussion at hand that much and was just repeating what Hito told her. When Ham proposes potential errors she just sees "hair" and goes from there
>>288483180How many hand sized models did she request he make for her "research"?
>>288485083That's a polar bear and an anteater
One thing that makes this manga interesting is how we're never given direct access to Hito's consciousness. It maintains the outsider perspective that we're watching him through the eyes of the kemo. It also lets there be an element of mystery to the whole story. Even though we know about humans and obviously so does the author, what is and isn't addressed in the story regarding them is bottlenecked through Hito's lack of visible narration. It seperates him from the kemo who all offer their internal thoughts when the story needs it.
>>288485022>>288488137Firearms work on the same principle but are much simpler to make compared to space rockets, hence why they precede it by centuries. Even if they're not as warlike as humanity, we can assume guns still developed for things like hunting and defense. The designs would need to be specialized to fit their hands, and I can't imagine they've advanced further than bolt-action rifles or similar. Also note that they *did* develop combustion and understand it from a scientific perspective; they never seemed to outright consider rockets an impossibility. Rockets were simply deemed too expensive and dangerous to justify further research. They don't have a Cold War or other conflict to drive its development like we did, and decided to spend the taxpayer money on more immediately practical concerns.
>>288488903It seems reasonably likely that someone invented firearms and then the government said "thank you, you did great work, but we can see no useful or safe applications for this technology, please go be a bureaucrat instead"
"Wait, what do you mean you're still making electricity by boiling water?"
>>288484330The world may never know
>>288488960>This "nuclear energy" intrigues us, Hito. Tell us more on how we can utilize it.
>wow so you guys invented rockets and immediately went to space with them>uhhhh no we first made them to blow each other to bits but then we realised "hey I bet it would piss of the enemy if we went to space before they did. We had a lot of scientists from World War 2 left over.">World War 2?>>288484407that's a problem for like the far far future. It's not an issue for us now even but it's something to worry about. It's clear Hito is worried about military application, he mentioned as much already>>288485991Loved to hear about their recent "Great War" where "over 730 kemos died in skirmishes over 3 years" and he's just like "yeah rip, our great wars are kinda like that too haha"
>>288488847It really is a neat way to handle the perspective. We know human history is pretty fucked, but we don't know how fucked it got before the best and brightest of a generation yeeted themselves into the void on the infinitesimal chance they might find somebody worthwhile. Every silent thousand-yard stare from Hito sparks the imagination.
>>288483381>>288483504Guys I think I'm getting tehre If I imagine that she's talking about their equivalent of pubes I think I may finally want to fuck Tonelico.
>>288489101>uhhhh no we first made them to blow each other to bits but then we realised "hey I bet it would piss of the enemy if we went to space before they did. We had a lot of scientists from World War 2 left over."actually it was 'we need to develop better rockets with greater payload capacity and range to drop bigger and more nuclear bombs on our enemies, let's couch it in the guise of competing for space exploration for clout to terrify the populace slightly less'
>>288488960>division of power and energy sees nothing wrong with it
>>288483284>>288483298>>288483423>>288483463Holy shiet, I kinda wanna give minister Ham a hug. Dude just wanted to build cool rockets. Makes me wonder how many equivalents we've had of our own just because their projects didn't fit some arbitrary applications.
>>288489031>>288489128>Nuclear power? Well first thing first we had to build a nuclear bomb. The fact we had a nuclear bomb before generating nuclear electricity is genuinely haunting and funny. I hope they explore concepts like this if they go down the "Kemonos are near pacifists compared to humanity" route
>>288489195We don't know just how advanced humans were when building that ship, or how prepared it might have been in case he found something immediately hostile too.
>>288489195research nuclear reactors were built before bombs, commercial nuclear reactors only came along later because it wasn't until well after world war 2 that any nuclear materials were released for commercial purposes.
They must think they're super violent compared to humanity just because he hasn't mentioned war and is very nice. They're going to be disappointed when they find out humans made the nanomachines as bioweapons before they realised they could use them to freeze people.
>>288489232>made the nanomachines as bioweaponsI bet they were actually made by some perv who wanted to feel his waifu as he fucked her in vr.
>>288483365Six years since I've played this game and it's still relevant whenever an anime or manga talks about rocket science and I need a refresher.
>>288489223As funny as it would be for Hito to be carrying a realistic handgun, his suit, as advanced as it seems, probably has some sort of weapon installed in it.It'd be an interesting conversation him explaining that. And as you say, the ship which he can interface with remotely might also be packing heat. I'd find it hard to believe they'd send an astronaut to signs of life without giving him some self defense
>>288489369It would have been bad if he encountered someone more advance and hostile who could extract information from the ship, or found something with an animal level of intelligence that needed to be killed to protect the ship. It wouldn't have to be a world ending kind of weapon, but it would benefit from having something.
>>288489232That would make a great plot for a videogame about spies infiltrating terrorist facilities
>>288489253The two engines of human advancements, lust and war.
there's 2 main driving factors to human innovation: killing and hornythe speed at which the internet's tech evolved is directly tied to porn production and delivery
>>288484967kino
>>288483139Is this referencing the fact that humans have the fastest throw among all animals?
>>288490206no, throwing a baseball is a pretty common physics metaphor since it's a sphere and physicists love spheres (imagine the cow is a sphere)
>>288485210>villainhe was barely an antagonist for all of one chapter and then we realize he is just a scientist turned bureaucrat still pining for scientific innovation.
>>288490277The main villain is the Lion guy.He is clearly going to try to kill the humie himself soon.
>>288490277>>288490305You raise a good point, there hasn't really been raised a main conflict. Although I can't quite imagine what a long term antgonist could be given the setting. Right now all they have is the antihitoner group led by the lion but we know they're stupid and pretty basic. They might introduce other party members who are more menacing but "single human faces antihuman agenda" isn't a very dynamic conflict. >even badder aliens show up!
>>288483346'highly reliable' is a very relative term herethere's huge risk with any controlled explosion
>>288483423>fusion technology is not a dream
>>288489184Yeah they did a pretty good job making him sympathetic in a chapter. Wasn't some "boohoo sobstory" but a fun little flashback about creative ambition
>>288490240I especially like the explanation that a horse power is the power one spherical horse produces in a vacuum.
>>288490348kinda liking the SoL vibe going on right now, no need to force in some Big Bad for an action plot
>>288483265>>288483320>>288483423Top notch work on ham's story. And all in one chapter too.
>>288483463>That moment when you realize all your blood and sweat wasn't toward some naive unattainable fantasy, that the answer was right in front of you if you had just been allowed to work just a bit harder and longer.I'm glad for you pig bro, I hope you lay a great foundation for your space program.

I wish I was a smart astronaut that could have cat sex and then die
>>288493204well you can still do that second part...
>>288483463Imagine being so close to greatness only to be proven right after you quit.I hope we get to see more of him.

>>288491209>moons over my hammie
Would you a hito
>>288483463>>288483571Now you realize most technological advances are stopped by profit. We could have been solved food production, cancer and energy generation but doing that is not profitable to some jew or corpo.>"but we can generate generate energy for all the planet for pennies"Nope, no profitable.Let that sink in.
>>288483696>cold warI think you forgot the part where allies and commies stole nazi research and german scientists for their own blocks. The rest was just linking the dots. It was a fight of who stole more nazi research and took more german scientists.

>>288494718this. he explained in the previous chapter he has nanomachines in his blood that repair his cells. Once he hits 35 or so he'll stop aging

>>288483381>>288493827Ham basically got it down here >>288483251 but his only flaw was that he made it before welding was invented so he could make it into a seamless container. Hitoshi was implying the existence of welding without outright saying it.Welding is a big deal but I don't get why Hitoshi is being all Prime Directive about it when he went ahead spoiled that they were right on the money with rocket fuel. It doesn't seem like that big a leap in tech to be dangerous.
I want a chapter featuring Kemo civilization. How much crime is there?Issues surrounding sex.Is hybridization possible? (Like, cats and lions can be hybridized, but not with pigs.)
>>288494349Loving the influx of stocking paw pics with her
>>288495943I wonder if they will broach those topics especially hybrids im sure some kemono have different types have at least got with each other I wanna see about the media with hitoner they hinted at in the first chapter as it states theres legends and myths with them and im sure there's media like cartoons with them as well
>>288496179I just want more Tonelico.

>>288496257Me too
>>288483240>>288483423Can't say I expected this chapter to give us animal October Sky.
>>288495943Author already established that Kemo society is compromised of entirely different species that all just happen to all be sentient. So i doubt hybridization is possible, except like you said cats with lions with the result often being infertile and questionably healthy offspring
>>288496211There has to be more hitoner fans especially if there is stuff with them before the guy got there I imagine there going crazy that a human from there media is real
This manga is great but the pace is killing me, thank god the author didn't spend time showing construction of the rocket.
>>288486090I dont blame Tonerico at all. Like who tf wouldn't fall in love with Hito? He's a trained astronaut probably selected from hundreds of candidates that went through extensive physical training and probably all of them have PHDs. He is literally the best humanity had to offer. He is athlete, biologist, engineer, anthropologist, linguist and a poet all in one not just to represent humanity, but rather just to survive the journey itself. And when it comes to alien-ess of Hito, he isn't that alien from Kemo. He is equivalent of big burly werewolf in a spacesuit. Like your average woman might be "disgusted" at first, but ultimately intriguinged. After all, many women admitted that the Beast in the Beauty and the beast should've stayed a beast lmao
>>288489894It's literally Kafkaesque
>>288496383It might not have taken much time to construct, although that process could have been as important to them as the rocket itself.

>>288486770Why are Kemo so disturbed by hairless ape when for example, Ham himself is a hairless pig?(unless he is a boar and manga just can't show his true color)

>>28849388699% of those "miraculous inventions" are very profitable. Because they are frauds deliberately designed to catch gullible investors with grand promises.

>>288498359Just like AI
>>288496346I hope we hear more about the Hito folklore the kemono have. I don't want it to be a "it was earth all along" nonsense but it'd be fun to hear what preconceptions they had and to hear more about Kemono history

Military? I doubt it'd be used like that".Clearly kemo have a slightly less militant history but who knows how they would react if he introduced a bunch of modern weapon ideas. Shit like M.A.D theory only worked because humans know how warfare works. Kemos could get missiles and think "hmmm well if I blow up neighbour I could take his shit" without the experience to know "hmmm if I blow up my neighbour I'll probably get blown up as well"
>>288504324You're right, I forgot he already mentioned that possibility.
>>288497945thats not horrifying at all, type writers are incredibly advanced mechanisms basically only one step below a computer the machine gun is at its core simple rotation hitting a hammer
>>288504324Albedo had a nice aspect of this but its post human
>>288503673>"There's no such thing as materials only available on the Hito's planet."It's true since the most basic stuff is naturally occurring from universal events.
>>288493886>We could have been solved food productionFood production Is already solved.

WHY CAN'T HITOS BE REAL
>when you nut but she still lick
>>288505227no seriously the fuck was that face for
>>288505252Suppressing a yawn.
ahemGATO SEXO
>>288500592Seeing her afterwards think she probably should have taken her pantyhose off but she liked how it felt when he worehiped her paws in them

>>288505252I think he was just holding back laughter because the term was funny to himI mean why else would they repeat it so many times
>>288505252>>288506800Something lost in translation is that they're not using the verb for lick but the onomatopoeia "ペロペロ" Imagine if instead of something like "hits per second" it was "kapows per second"
>>288503673>>288504324He might have more benign regulations in mind, like laws requiring any shed staging parts to either be released on a suborbital trajectory or be capable of de-orbiting on their own to prevent the accumulation of space junk
He's on Earth a million years in the future, isn't he.
>>288505020Not entirely. Current high-intensity food industry relies a lot on chemicals that come from finite sources. Like modern industrial fertilisers are miracles of organic chemistry made from mined compounds. Herbicides and pesticides also play a huge role. Aquifers for irrigation also experience net negative water balance.
>>288507305Another planet a million years in the future that other humans visited during that time is more likely.
What would your reaction be if there actually is human/kemo sex?
>>288507305He’s on a human pleasure world that got disconnected from the greater empire. This is why his hands are effectively sexual organs for these poor creatures.
>>288507305Even if, is it really that bad trope? Remember that if it was truly alien planet, there are WAY to many coincidences left to explain. Like the fact that Kemo planet has a moon similar to Earth's.Or that it has a breathable atmosphere with 1g surface gravity. Or that it has not only a carbon based life, but also a almost exact copy of Earth's vegetation profile, I.e. trees, grains and such.Or most damnig fact of all: majority of Kemos seem to be mammals. So it's either Earth in far future or completely different planet, in which case a hard sci-fi direction of manga will be greatly compromised, atleast in a world building sense
>>288507888I would kneel, obviously.
>>288487081just like in Animal Farm, pigs are the most human
>>288483481>We'll need to manufacture parts with unprecedented precision..."Technological advance is an inherently iterative process. One does not simply take sand from the beach and produce a Dataprobe. We use crude tools to fashion better tools, and then our better tools to fashion more precise tools, and so on. Each minor refinement is a step in the process, and all of the steps must be taken."– Chairman Sheng-ji Yang, "Looking God in the Eye"
You think there eventually going to try and get hitos ship down fron orbit And potentially we see the haruka ai
>>288509422The AI needs to have been using a catgirl appearance.
>>288509575That would fuck with the Kemo people so badly. I'm all for it.
>>288509201That's entirely arbitrary. This Yang guy seems like a retard.
>>288509575That would be hilarious especially for moreTonelico reactions
>>288509923>That's entirely arbitrary. In what way is it arbitrary
>>288509422Haruka girlfriend*
>>288509931Even better if it was a robot body on the ship to do some work while he was preserved and not just something to display.
>>288509923In what way does "Precision tools need to be made with precision tools" sound arbitrary to you? You make a slicer that slices really thin to get an even sharper slicer to slice even thinner to get an even SHARPER slicer to...
>>288498359Because we let business people to do technology and not real scientists and engineers.>>288498550found the artfag tranny>>288505020No, what you have is excess over production of waste food that won't be consumed and lack of production in the other side. Check the culling of male ducklings, anon.>>288507618There is a reason why they stopped using local ways to fertilize and work the land to industrialized fertilizers and pesticides. It was all because of profit, not progress. The famous "green revolution" created the problem of over used agriculture land that (how convenient) you have to constaly pump it artificial fertilizers to make a lower quality of food compared to peasants in ancient times. Yeah, sounds like a conspiracy theory because it is, check the names of the people in the biggest echelons of food corporations.
>>288495245>Weldingwait, this was the reason why Ham's rocket didn't work?
>>288485933>>288486009So far, the kemonos don't have the equivalent of jews and communism, so they will be ok, I guess. Also, they had wars before the "work together" society they created.
>>288510198Anon, what ways do you think we aren't using that are actually more efficient in food production and protection than the ways we are currently using?
>>288510280local production of food to satisfy local requirements. Over imported food and over production for exportation is what create this "inequality" (it sounds gay, yeah) ways of production. Big corpo food destroy local producers, to make local communities dependent in big corpo, then make a lot of problems to keep the demand, lower quality, foreign food, imported food to keep the demand, etc. It's a cascade of problems when you don't make a local community to feed themselves. Self sustained farms, fish farms, chicken farms, small livestock farms, etc. You don't need huge quantities of cows and monocrop huge farms to feed locals.
>>288510419In many countries, there is simply not enough efficiently arable land to feed local needs. The "Local needs" of a city are asinine in both size and complexity. Some countries are doomed to import forever.
>>288510419>local production of food to satisfy local requirementsThat sounds like either subsistence farming or communism. I don't know if either could be called "efficient"
as a catgirl appreciator obviously I'm intrigued by this, but when does it get to actually breeding the cat? also what is the likelihood of this getting an anime?
>>288510698Too early to tell and too early to tell.Though I'd prefer a movie of the oneshot first.
>>288510698bro we're like 6 chapters in
>>288507093We can safely assume he'd push for any regulations we want on Earth like minimizing space junk, but he was very specific about not giving them any military technology. Hito's not naive, and doesn't want to create a huge power imbalance and fuck their society over by accident. I imagine he only agreed to demonstrating the rocket because he realized they wouldn't be able to build a functional one in a reasonably short time, and would be able to push for regulations in advance.
>>288505026Not as relevant per se. Albedo is about 2500 years after we uplift animals because we blew ourselves to dust trying to colonize.
