This show was fucking hot trash. Literally "it insists upon itself" tier.I love Lain, but just about everything about this show was fucking ass, from the plot, to the progression, to the characters and even the presentation sometimes.
you don't seem to understand
>>288483307>I love Lain>just about everything about this show was fucking assSo you love fucking ass, got it.
>>288484908Who doesn't love Lain's ass?
>>288483307>I'm a Lain fan. No, I don't like her show I just look at wacky fanart of her on x.com (formerly twitter)Why do we allow secondaries on this website
>>288483307I bet you liked texnolyze
>>288483307>im a newfag and also retarded“Everything was ass".The atmosphere? cinematography? soundtrack? op? sound design? script? It honestly seems like you just didn’t understand the show. That’s pretty common on a first watch when you don’t pay close attention to the details. It’s a genuinely good show, with strong audiovisual presentation and a carefully crafted script.
>>288485156Nigga I like Lain the character. As in her writing was fine. Everything else was shit >SecondariesDon't use words you don't understand.
>>288485301>NewfagI've been here longer than you've been alive lol.
>>288485401You are a secondary fan. You don't engage with a work itself, and you said as much you don't even like the work. You engage with it through secondary media and a wider 'community' surrounding the work while being divorced from the original work itself; you like the idea of Lain more than Lain as it actually is. You're not a real fan. Go back to twitter.
>>288483307You don't seem to understand
I didn't enjoy this as much as I was hoping to. It drags way too much.
>>288483664A shame you'll always be a man.
>>288485660>Secondary fanI'm not even a fan nigger, are you retarded? Can you read?
>>288483307This is my new faggotry showing but were there always hate threads for Lain or is it a new thing?
>>288486419People who didn't understand it always talked trash about it, just like with Evangelion. It's an indirect way of saying you have a low IQ. Although I've seen quite a bit more of it lately because the show became popular with zoomers for some reason.
>>288485206hey leave us out of itlain is very disjointed and thats the experience it often feels like a slideshow just like tons of anime of that erai feel like texhnolyze's characters would be criticized in the same way by this guy and same to the plot and progression...
>>288485417And that's why you just watched a 13-episode classic that's been talked about here forever?Just to criticize it with a quote from Family Guy instead of saying why the plot or presentation is bad when you clearly didn't understand it because you weren't paying attention
>>288486566>Because you don't understand itLain is not hard to understand nor is it even remotely complex. Anyone who can't understand Lain by the end of it needs a tard wrangler.
>/a/ mad at Lain being insulted because it's "le hecking classic!!!"Thank you OP
>>288486479>for some reason.y2k tiktok trend most of it is larp
>>288486479Lain's isn't even as complex as eva they legit explain pretty much everything in the complete 13 episodes, you don't even require external media to understand it.
I don't remember anything about lain except enjoying it and something something ze wired. But the cyberia mix is fucking awesome.
>>288488385The only thing you need to know about Eva through external material is the nature of the Angels, cosmic beings whose sole purpose in the series is to attack Adam or Lilith to create conflicts, thus developing the characters. Lain needs to connect the image from minute 1 of chapter 3 with the one from minute 8 of chapter 8 to piece together the plot; it's more technically complex, although Eva is more complex in terms of psychological depth.

who is forcing this gay ass family gay meme here?
>>288489612The usual suspects
>>288483664fpbp
>>288483307I don't like drugslop shows like evangelion and such
>>288489703a dead ass imageboard and deleted sub board
some posters in here are exhibiting real Rick n Morty energy
>>288486566>instead of saying why the plot or presentation is bad when you clearly didn't understand it because you weren't paying attentionLMAO why do people act like Lain is actually deep or tough to understandIt's just a recycled cyberslop story that ages like cream cheese, especially considering when its placed, and if it didn't come out when anime was becoming larger in the west then it would've been forgotten a year after it airedtldr: Stop assuming someone disliking Lain is a bad actor. It's mid, at best.
>>288490345what interest does sharty have in broadcasting the fact that Lai. throws like six or seven plates of spaghetti against the wall and less than one of them actually sticks and it wasn't the one you were actually interested in?
>>288483307Idk I haven't watched it but you're probably right because you made laintroons seethe
>>288483307Why
>>288483307Lain is fine. Direction was interesting and animation reasonably good.It does take itself too seriously, but it was the late 90s. They were trying something new.
>>288483307It certainly didn't age well since the internet ended up being a dead end in human evolution.
>>288483307Why do nameless faggots always seem to think they’re highbrow for using vague terminology to try and bring down media that’s undoubtedly unique? As if they’ve ever had an original thought or concept in their life
>>288483307and you don't seem to understand
>>288492998Unique =! Good
>>288492687Yeah the animation is decent, the visual direction is cool and all but there's no real substance to it.Singular character stories are cool and all, but the anime has a problem with pretending Alice is a real character when she is absolutely not.>Hurr durr you actually asked me if I'm okay that means I love you now and you're my bestest friend but I don't know how to show you because I have autism due to being Cyber GodAlice does nothing important in the story at all, her character might as well not even exist, which is important because the ending treats her as if she's important.
>>288483307a shame, you seemed an honest man
