What's the worst fate a manga series can suffer
>straightforward but badly animated adaptation (no one will try to adapt it again)
>adaptation that completely fucks up everything about the story
>getting one great season then going on a permanent hiatus
>never getting adapted at all
>author dying before finishing and discouraging adaptations from being made ever

I'd hate bad adaptations the most, because it's basically completely out of your control and there goes your chance of a good boost to your sales

some bad adaptations do actually give a good boost to sales, for example Ex-Arm

World Trigger's adaptation was so bad they are now remaking it but it still doubled the manga sales

Never getting an adaptation because it would be a copyright nightmare.

The Biscuit Hammer special. An adpatation so unbelievably bad it becomes legendary and you can't even pretend it didn't happen.

A bad adaptation but retards think is good and overshadows the original.

Author dying, because then the series will never be finished. In all other cases regardless of what happened with the anime at least you have the manga.

Never getting adapted at all is not a bad fate.
Anime is plebian, manga is art.
>>
It's clearly the last one, what the fuck are you retards thinking.
A bad adaptation may tank sales, but the series itself can survive, retain / grow a cult following (fuck normalfags), and achieve a successful ending / tell its story / share its message.
If the author dies, that's it, gg. No adaptation, no conclusion, his final moments unless an instantaneous death is one filled with regret for not being able to finish his work.

>get an adaptation
>spend all the money on voice work
>go anime original for the ending and fuck all chances for a continuation

Most series end badly, sometimes not having a definitive ending is a blessing
>>
>>288490642
You forgot
>Author continues to drag his series long after it should have ended while utterly shitting itself in a way that also retroactively ruins the early good parts on a reread
>>
>>288490642
The adaptation being so bad it makes the author commit suicide before finishing the series
