They did it 3 and 4 a tad bit better while also working with Naruto's more lackluster situation with the gap of acknowledgement towards the events in the crater. Aside from Connections, I trust Cyberconnect2 with my life for future adaptations of anime and manga, especially for the Naruto IP since they manage to make the majority of characters feel as distinct as the source material which is a hurdle most interactive IP titles often not fail to do so.

it's probably worth mentioning that gaara was probably less on edge after his father died. he really hated him and he hated his assassination attempts (though filler makes it seem like suna still kept trying to kill gaara even after his father died. was this ever mentioned in canon?). for an extended reason for how gaara was so quickly able to get over his issues.and for the eye marks, using rasa to give a quick explanation for why they exist was probably just done to explain why gaara still has them even after losing shukaku. so maybe kishi thought it wouldn't make sense if gaara still had eyebags but didn't want to change the design. thus, magnet release eye marks were born.

something that seems odd to me is how in early naruto, ninja were presented as tools and like they always suppressed their emotions.things like zabuza crying over haku were a rarity and something that only naruto brought out because of his childish innocence.then later on, you have ninja openly showing emotion over their lost loved ones and there are talks of wars potentially breaking out if ninja lose people they care about. see shikamaru explaining how the cycle of hatred causes conflicts, and naruto begging A not to pursue sasuke so they don't create a cycle of violence.i just don't think the cycle of hatred as a concept fits naruto's world where ninja are supposed to suppress emotions. part 1 feels jarring when part 2 has everyone constantly showing emotions and breeding conflict over shinobi losing loved ones.
