All the camp and personality was gone and yet even less was explained than usual, it was like the staff never actually touched the LNs and just read a plot summary for their job. The BGM and SFX are nonexistent, it's all just shot-reverse-shot, and there are so many moments followed by a second of nothing in particular where you'd expect some response to the previous line but it's just silence and flat expressions. When I first watched it, it poisoned the reading experience so badly for me that I had to go back and rewatch the first season to detox. Let's not forget how they ruined the ending by skipping 3 WHOLE VOLUMES. Of course people will think the ending sucks when everything that justified it was missing (JC Staff is also partly guilty for that after ruining Itsuka Disaster). It's legit among the worst adaptations ever.
Didn't this shit pass itself off as a proper harem only to take a hard right turn into monoshit in the last few volumes? I would have been livid if I had wasted my time reading it only for that to happen. Although having watched a fair bit of the anime, which was pretty shit, Kurumi was the only worthwhile girl in the first place.

Tohka was obviously special by volume 7 and gets reaffirmed regularly, but Absolute Tohka Supremacy was established back in volume 12 when she discovers Shidou has to kiss the spirits to seal them and steals 7 kisses to make up the difference (while they all watch). She gets extra kisses for the later spirits too. Harems are traditionally composed of concubines and one legal wife/queen.
