This fight is pretty much completely ripped off Kurama vs Kaito, only that was more of a mindgame than a real fight so the execution is way more awkward here and this fight ends in an asspull.

Throughout the whole series he absolutely lacks any proper fights and that's another thing I hate about the whole thing. Throughout the whole show he has just a few serious fights which I think is terrible for a main character. I do agree that Hinata should have gotten more spotlight throughout the show, especially since she's supposed to be the main love interest. Meanwhile she interacts with Naruto like three or four times and for the rest he doesn't even care about her existence.
