It was short sighted and stupid for both of them to turn a healthy friendship into a means to ease the pain they felt, but ease the pain it did. For at least a night Frieren could forget about all her sorrows and just focus on a connection she had with a fellow adventurer and friend even if it wasn’t the late hero she realized too late was perfect for her at least she could indulge in this young warrior for a brief liaison just to get a taste of what she could’ve had with Himmel. When they awoke in the morning new regret and shame washed over the two of them. They instantly knew they had made a mistake that would permanently damage the relationship between each other, as well as with Fern the young woman who was to them either an adopted daughter who’s lover they had just slept with or a fiancee who they betrayed with an affair with her adoptive mother.
