>>288594115In most cases, AV1 has substantial improvements at the exact same file size. When done properly, I've seen 2 GB AV1 Opus movies with identical quality to the 4 GB HEVC AAC versions. Once you touch the 6+ GB range, the difference between them doesn't matter anymore.
