I have noticed that VCG style battle could work like Dueling on YGO. The main difference is that trainers will use pokemon ability, supports moves and gimmicks in place of spell cards , trap cards and fusion cards. VCG style battle would be a lot quicker and could end in one episode unlike full battle that take 2 episode. It would also lead to more unique strategy than single battles. Especially if Pokemon anime decides to add wonder Launchers. The problem, the number of pokemon is low for a series with full VCG style battling. If every trainer has a team of 6 different pokemon than it will only make up about 170 trainers. Which mean main character has to battle the same pokemon multiple times like real world VCG where Incineroar & Sneasler are found in most people's teams. Pokemon number needs to exceed 3000 before we can get a series on VCG style battling.
