At first I thought it was she could learn more about Elsa by reading his Book of the Dead since he was there for her final moments, but it sounds more like it was done out of spite.The previous night has !Subaru talking about some extremely weird bullshit as if he has all the answers Meili wants to hear, and not even she understands what the fuck he meant by it. Just that he had mentioned "remembering everything" for her, only to pull a stunt the next day and lose his memories. At a loss and figuring her life is probably over after the trip to the watchtower anyway, she pushes him off so she could at least read his book and hopefully learn what the fuck he was talking about. Is that right? After all she doesn't try anything in the loop where he never reveals his memory loss.
