Imo it'd worked better if Chihiro's side was delayed a bit so that his fight in the theater coincided with Samura getting Tobimune, working as a sort of double climax that then escalates into a bigger climax with Samura's betrayal as Chihiro and Hakuri's POV merge. The way Takeru did it added a delay between the theater fight and the temple fight that kind of fucked the pacing.Usually you have a climax that keeps on going or it dies down as the action subsides. In SBA you get the climax of the Hiruhiko fight that cuts off without a final resolution, move to more (but lesser) action in the temple which then brings everything together into a bigger climax still. That might sound good on paper but in truth it kinds of fuck with reader expectations. It's still good though but it was a bit of a tough chew when read weekly.
