Anyone else seen Gothicmade?
Personally I like it, but I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that it is so hard to even get a chance to watch it.
Especially the last scene(s) / timelapse make the whole experience feel special to me. But I also feel like if it were ever officially released, it would just become another obscure anime movie that a lot of people would probably find very boring.

I have not seen it but I expect the number of English-speakers who have is below 100, definitely on /a/.
Even if it got a wide release nobody would care. Forget about thinking it's boring, from what I've heard it's basically pointless if you're not a fan of FSS which isn't even fully translated and is quite obscure in the English-speaking world itself.
FSS actually did get licensed last year, but the TLers are notorious for MTL and the release keeps getting delayed, so I doubt this series is ever going to catch on in the West. Which is a shame because it's pretty good.

Does the FSS movie even have subs?
And how protective are the Japanese license holders that you can hardly even find any clips of it on youtube?

I don't know how anyone could enjoy FSS.
The manga is beyond dogshit with nonsense setting, plot and too many random characters. It's one of the most snoozefest and least engaging manga I've ever read. There isn't even much mecha in it, but more dragons and bullshit pseudo politics.

Yeah, the movie is subbed but it's kind of pointless if you haven't read the manga. IIRC part of the reason Gothicmade was even created was because of how bad the movie was from Nagano's perspective. The movie only adapts the first volume which is barely anything for the overall narrative.

It's an interesting work and it's basically the manga equivalent of an auteur film.
I do agree the setting is nonsense, especially the retcons that happened to make FSS fit with Gothicmade, which are quite annoying if you never even watched the movie which most people haven't.

This thing likes to get re-aired all of a sudden right?

>Has anyone else seen this movie that only plays on semi-random dates on random years and only on a singular large island in the Pacific?

No.
But I have seen both trailers.

While I enjoy FSS as the self indulgent world building of a genius mechanical designer, I can see how the inconstant and non-sequential nature of the manga would leave people cold. The GTM reboot really did nothing for me, feels like Nagano changes things only to keep himself from getting bored.
