What a great show. Solid the whole way through and stuck the landing well. I don't know why this flew under the radar, I guess people who watched the first episode assumed it was just a dumb comedy with nothing else to it.

This was a perfect finale. Some part of it really caught me off guard and yet that was exactly the best thing to do. I'm still genuinely amazed by how satisfying that ending was.I'd probably need some time to organize my thoughts about this anime. We've been discussing about this in previous threads. There is a weird mixture of drama and comedy that progressively clash against each other until the very end. But that's also what makes Kirio Fanclub quite unique and so intriguing. Almost every comedic timing is completely wrong, like, it shouldn't work on the paper. They're intrusive in some way. I would often ask myself "Are you really going to ruin this emotional moment?" and these madmen would commit to the bit every single time.But it's really why this is genius, I think. This direction echoes with the story itself and the last episode is the proof of it. The way it used its absurd comedy for its emotional climax is terrific. The scene where Seira barges in is exactly that.Overall, Kirio Fanclub was a great surprise. I would never have expected to be this invested when I first picked this up. I wouldn't say that it's a masterpiece either, although it was a very solid show with great voice acting in particular. I simply like how weird it was for a comedy.

This whiny faggot almost ruined the series for me. On paper, I don't mind the development at all and I even sympathize with the core message of the show. In practice, Kirio is an incredibly weak character to make him the focus of the story, and the series took a massive nosedive in quality and entertainment once it started to revolve around him. The series being about a couple of girls who made a fun club for the dullest person in their school, and the way their discussions about him are far more interesting than the person himself, is funny in itself. The fact that one of them is secretly in love with the other gives an extra layer to all of their interactions. I don't think it needed more. Sometimes, something simple but fun is enough.
