I watched Conan when I was a kid
Now I'm in my 30s and he's still a kid
What fucking gives??

>over one thousand episodes worth of crime
>has done everything from theft, murder, kidnapping, fraud, terrorism, and maybe even rape
Most vill/a/ins wish they were this evil
>>

Didn't Ran's VA just pass away too before it ended? Conan is never going to end at this rate
>>
>>288803284
He's a bad detective simple as.
>>
>>288803338
Now Haibara will win.
>>
>>288803284
It's been less than a year in Conan's world.
Which makes this >>288803332 even more amazing.
>>
>>288803345
Haibara likes older men.
>>
>>288803332
They're just the world elites. Conan is literally powerless against them.
>>

>It's been less than a year in Conan's world
Really, what about Christmas? Also, the changing seasons.
>>
>>288803615
It operates under Simpsons law
>>
>>288803615
It's from Gosho himself, but it seems he chooses to ignore the detail about changing seasons. Even the manga has cases where there is a reference to an earlier one like it happened just recently, when it's been hundreds of chapters between, so he is probably trying to set up a tight timeline as far as events goes at least.
>>
>>288803685
yeah it does look like that lol
>>288803736
I get that he needs changing seasons to set up the settings surrounding the case, but I think he can make use of an actual calendar. There are plenty of days he could use, and realistically, it'll take 2 or 3 years for a thousand chapters, which wouldn't seem weird for Conan to remain as a child. What do you think would be more suitable?
>>
>>288803375
>>288803615
To clarify, the ongoing daily very recently had a line that implies the case around chapter 750 is 6 months after the start of the series.
This is despite several yearly events and changes in seasons.
There's no point in thinking about it, by the time the series ends it'll be a year at most.

>Still haven't caught this guy
The Japanese police are useless
>>
>>288804255
Not only that, but there was also a case in chapter 725 that was outright said to be a month later from Valentine's day case in chapter 331, despite the seasons and even mentioned dates changing so that there would be 7 years in between.
>>
So weird going back to the really early episodes where they have to explain what a computer is or how the internet works and then you jump to the modern episodes and everyone has smartphones and shit but apparently not even a year has passed.
>>
>>288804619
Magical retroactive technology, there is a more recent case that is flashback to when Shinichi really was a little kid, but they all have modern smartphones.
I miss the bento box fax, there was something romantic about these silly inventions.
>>
>>288803332
This actual guy hasn't done a single illegal thing yet, I believe. He has only thought about dozens of possible murders, but still hasn't commited any crime.
>>
He stays 6 so Ran can stay 16.

>We can be both of God and the devil. Since we're trying to raise the dead against the stream of time.
BO invented a time machine.
>>
>>288805586
And they are still less of a threat than average Beika citizen.

time works different in manga
>>
It's just a floating timeline
>>
>>288803375
>>288803284
Only a year has passed in-universe, yet Conan has witnessed hundreds of murders that just so happen to occur wherever he goes. Just how high is the murder rate in Beika City? And even outside of Beika City, if Conan goes anywhere be it Osaka or a foreign country, a murder will happen. Is he cursed?
And think of how traumatizing this must be to the Dective Boys, actual 6 year-olds constantly witnessing murders and getting kidnapped and almost murdered themselves countless times. They're going to grow up to be fucked up people.
>>
>>288805794
>They're going to grow up to be fucked up people.
I think they've simply become numb to it at this point. They'll be scared in the moment, but once the situation is resolved they just repress it.

It's been noticed by several characters that Conan seems to be murder magnet, I recall vaguely something being said once that that's what happens to detectives.
The kids are just receiving training for their survival in the future, they hardly even show a reaction to it anymore.
>>
>>288805794
Reminds me of Jessica Fletcher from Murder She Wrote. Cabot Cove has an abnormally high murder rate for being a small town with a population of only about 3500 people.
>>
>>288806201
Is it appropriate to treat individual cases as sort of apocryphal then? By the nature of it being an ongoing story about a person who solves crimes crimes DO have to happen even if they don't advance the main story
>>
>>288806255
There's a difference between a detective being asked to investigate a murder that already happened, and a detective just happening to run into a murder wherever they go.
