They are dropping budget artstyles that aren't really pleasant on the eyes lately and they seem to have forgot that cute girl anime was originally built on mixing comedy and light eroticism. Instead they decided to sanitize all of the stuff that made it great in the 2000s/early 2010s and now obviously nobody wants to fund it when its a guaranteed flop because of these poor decisions. I think its safe to say cute girl anime is not their forte and they should stop trying to make it work if they won't take inspiration from the studios currently doing it right like Studio Bind or even Bridge with the amazing Bad Girls adaptation.
