I liked how the show started, but then it just kinda went nowhere. The author was clearly trying to adhere to WSJ standards, so we got those boring "training" parts >let's have another arc about some particular aspect that Akane's rakugo is still lacking and have her learn it to get even betterand, of course, rivals + tournament shit. Other characters are too episodic. I can't even remember most of their names, they are just "Akane's bald senpai", "Akane's teacher", "the fat guy Akane destroyed in middle school who then became her friend" etc. They don't have any agency, they only exist to serve some supporting role in Akane's journey. That said, the show occasionally had some nice direction, Akane was good, VAs were good. I will probably watch S2, just not excited about it at all.

I may not have posted much during the season but that doesn't mean I didn't like Aakane's show. Even if I wanted to comment on certain things that I really enjoyed, my mind was hijacked by decadent and dirty thoughts about Akane's delicious thighs and her teacher (a sex goddess). With that being said, I'm happy her show got another season.
