Even a minor injury can hamper his driving skills in a way tgat makes it impossible to keep competing. The guy with the scar looks relativelyyoung, so he probably had an accident that ended his career early.

It would force Haruka to rethink how he is pushing his brother to race. There was a bit of that in chapter 1 with Miharu telling him he was afraid. But an injury would make that a lot more real to him. If he dies, then it purely becomes a regret and guilt thing. If he lives then it's still that plus Haruka having to decide whether he should continue supporting his brother's racing career or pressure him to stop.
Not as exciting or emotional as the first chapter but you can't have car crashes and life changing moments all the time
Somehow I would think that professional racecar driving is a bit more complicated than keeping your foot on the gas.
