What was your interpretation of Jonathan and Dio’s relationship? From what I got from reading and watching the show at first Dio loathed him but Jonathan’s kindness somehow managed to break through Dio a little, however when the mask came into play Dio succumbed to his power hungry ways and let himself astray to evil as he was before, yet he still had respect for Jonathan since “he didn’t want to kill him himself”, Jonathan even after Dio betrayed him he still loved him and even shed tears when Dio was killed, he wasn’t mourning an enemy, he was mourning the death of his brother, in the ship after all of that Jojo still held Dio in his loving embrace, not only to take Dio with him and letting the terror end but a last ditch effort of showing his brother love, when everything was being destroyed, in that moment I believe that not only was Dio scared that he was going to die but that Jonathan was actually dead this timeThe way I see Dio taking over his brother’s body is not something out of revenge or evil, but in a way, it was something out of love for his brother, I believe Dio would be too prideful to take anyone else’s body, especially his sworn enemy, he didn’t take the body of his worst enemy, he took the body of his best friend and brother, Dio’s only act of love, giving Jonathan eternal life
I don't think about relationships between other men.
