We should know the Factions first.
Demons:
Evil beings of pure magic, their very existence is an anomaly that breaks all the laws of reality.
They each have 47 lord generals ruled and guided by one Demon Lord, making them a variated apocalypse in miniature.
currently however, 6 of them lie dead.

Aliens:
An exterminator race of primordial, highly-intelligent beings, their bodies are a kind of biomachinery so advanced that its beyond comprehension, but they are apparently weak against Mana/magic.

Giants:
Hominid colossi that are the epitome of physical power and brute strength.
Their bodies are walls, their gait makes the earth tremble, and their blows destroy mountains.
Their greatest weakness however is their limited intelligence.
Very Social beings with a very Short temper and when enraged, their roar thunders the battlefield.

Robots:
Self-sufficient machines with a deep contempt for humanity.
Intelligent and strategic, their numbers grow daily; their greatest weapon is their sheer numbers.
Highly adaptable and with an overwhelming learning capacity, they adapt to their opponents with each defeat.

Neo-humans:
A superhuman but arrogant subspecies of humanity with great strength, agility, dexterity, intelligence, and cunning, as well as a nauseating indifference.
They would be the equivalent of the Heroes from My Hero Academia, but without the "Quirk."

Parasites: An extremely aggressive, eldritch parasitic lifeform, capable of mutating any living being into aberrant and unpredictable forms.
their power of mutation depends in their Host's power.

Gaia's Wrath:
Mother Nature demonstrating her stubborn and omnipotent power, an ecosystem of mythical beasts, monstrous flora, and giant animals whose colossal grove swallow continents everyday.
>>
>>288867045
Kaiju: A beast whose size reaches the clouds, its back a constantly erupting volcanic continent, and its gaze piercing the soul of every flea at its feet.
Its gait is slow but relentless, a natural disaster in physical form that molds the world in its wake.

The Curse: A plague of contaminants, a product of the humans of this world who developed machines capable of polluting both body and soul.
Physically, it appears as a black, acidic, and bubbling lake; nothing in this substance ever grows or lives.

Mad God: A supreme divine deity with the power to mold reality at will. Humanity is enslaved by faith in him, but through prayers, he is able to aid his devotees.
He really hates Nilihists and his wrath is something to fear.

World Tree: A parasitic tree of colossal proportions that absorbs the life from the Planet that sustains it.
All who see it faint at its beauty and magnitude.

Lawless: An apocalyptic world where humanity is its own worst enemy. Morality and fear are lost in many, and these deranged, Mad Max-like barbarians are capable of fighting any threat from other factions, such as giants.
Stealers and thr Worst Backstabbers ever.

The Videogame:
IHNMAIMS/Sword Art Online/Tadc?
Not much is known about it, but it's likely an artificial version of Mad God where some kind of AM enslaved humanity through addiction to the game.

Every time I see this series brought up around here, it seems to be met with such vitrol.
I wonder why that is?
I like it a lot because it's tough to tell who's gonna win in any given bad-guy clash. Keeps you engaged.

I guess the series is basically
>what if we threw everything else out the window and just had a manga with good art where the bad guys partake in hype moments and aura all the time
though.

my gripe with it is that it's all over the place and lacks cohesion. I really liked the first chunk of the manga that had a central narrative, with a b-plot following the demons/aliens/etc. But at somepoint it got less focused on the characters and their dynamic, and just going balls deep into the world building of literal who factions we hardly get insight into before they get btfo'd. It's not too late for the plot to regain focus, but with all the subplots running co-currently, I wonder how ONE's going to weave them together. The only character I actually give a damn about is Ginbak, and Iglay
>>
>>288871853
Ragna split a km size meteor in half, what human in Versus has done anything comparable? Frankly, Ragna frankly stomps most of the natural enemies and might even be able to beat anyone from Versus. The only things he doesn't have a counter to is the curse, and maybe the Mad God. He has a shot at anything else through mix of raw power, his half-sword nature and his dragon-hating autism.
>>
>>288874193
I feel like most Shonen protags (luffy, naruto, deku, yuji, maybe even tanjiiro even though he's just a guy) would make quick work of every enemy they could encounter except for the bosses of each faction and Jachi
>>
>>288862274
>>288860964
What I like about the Titans is how they differ from other natural enemies. They have kinship and share a lot of admiral qualities that humans also have but despite that they are completely incompatible with anything besides other Titans.

It reminds me of the story in Homers Odyssey with the Cyclops. The Cyclops was just one of many Giants. They had their village, took care of sheep and seemed to function the same way regular people do however the Cyclops casually killed and ate people without a second thought. The Giants simply don't see humans the same as they see their fellow giants despite talking to them and receiving gifts from them. It was an allegory for how some civilisations are completely incompatible with our own and if we forget that it could mean our doom.

>>
What do you all think each specialized robot is gonna look like for each faction? How are they gonna adapt to parasites or titans or the game or even yaotsu?
>>
>>288874980
they're going to look like the factions their fighting, mecha-daikozuan, synthetic alien knockoffs made from the bodies they salvage, jaguar robots in the forest, we've already seen the Jaci-knockoff, maybe they'll even reprogram the curse since their nanobots.
>>
>>288874947
Cool
>>
>>288874947
Las time there was this.
>>288788353
>>
>>288874980
They don't really need to adapt to some of the NE outside of the generic "just become stronger than them", for example the parasite doesn't affect robots but they might be destroyed by a strong creature infected by it, so they need to adapt to any changes in fighting style or just to its raw unga strength.
To counter the curse they must counter other people using it, since they have no soul to drain.
To counter the tree they just uhh avoid the roots? I don't think the tree can sap their energy.
Etc
>>
>>288864166
Im surprised one of the more clever humans hasn't tricked him into doing the work.

"My lord there are all of these terrible NATURAL ENEMIES that seek to destroy your congregation and deny you your rightful worship"

Lawless/Giants and Demons already do that, buddy.

My Faction of Ghosts is more like the a mix of Yo-kai watch + Ghostbusters and Dark Gathering.

In Ghostbusters and Yo-kai watch, these Eldritch entities born from the Death and in Dark Gathering they can harvest souls to staying in the overworld and grow stronger.
>>
>>288880897
The Demons are the closest, the Giants are savage and the Lawless are literally Lawless
I think the seafarer aesthetic and the fact that they would be a different variety, like a systemic cruelty rather than the savagery of the Lawless would set them apart, especially if they disguised themselves with virtue, and possibly even human reeducation
Go full colonial/nazi with them, concentration camps, propaganda, the works
and the ghosts don't sound very unique even in aesthetic either imo

>ghosts don't sound very unique
The idea is for them to represent a fear of Humanity, this one being not knowing how the Afterlife is.
The Rawest fear to death, unlike demons they are more Magical/Fantasy beings in their aesthetic.

And their Theme is whay to much to Dragon Quest, especially in the First demons we see.
Like the Demon Troops, Jachi and the Demon Emperor.

I don't see them is this espiritual way, like i said is more fantasy/magic generic isekai aesthetic.

The problem with ghosts is that it brings up a bunch of new conditions to consider. Are all ghosts evil? can humans become ghost? what makes ghosts become a natural enemy and how does that play into death for other factions? When death isn't the end how will factions treat life?

I like ghosts but I thing they should not be "ghosts" they should be otherworldly supernatural spirits not related to humanity or even death in any way. They go beyond science and our understanding of reality and the more dangerous ones are those that can "enter" or seep into our realm more.
>>
>>288885080
In my way to see it is more like this:

The souls of people are the good ones.
But all go to the Ghostworld, in there they can be turn into Ghosts with no memory of their past.

What Makes them would be the same reason they are a threat in Ghostbusters and Dark Gathering.
Greater Ghosts control via corruption these Ghosts and use them as pawns

Aliens when killed their souls go back to the Mothership as we see in this chapter.
Demons go back to their "Hell"
Indignia Humans maybe can rebirth thanks to Mad God
Giants souls sure are just as strong to be controled by Ghosts
Neo-humans, Parasites and Gaia's Wrath sure follow the reborn thing, Different Reality, different rules.

The only World in think Ghosts can affect are Disastrious Metropolis... but the humans only because they can't harm Kaiju

Your Awnser may be anwsered if you read the manhwa: underworld invasion

Basically Angels vs Aliens.
Aliens when killed also appear in the Afterlife but they work in a different way as Human souls.

>Ushio and Tora
Various youkai hunt humans, such as a giant centipede that petrifies people and eats the stone, a living cloud of corrosive mist, and a nine-tailed fox that has wiped out multiple nations.
>Karakuri Circus
An immortal alchemist got cucked so hard that he went crazy and built a bunch of living, sentient puppets that drink human blood, move faster than the eye can see, and spread a "disease" (nanomachines) that make anyone infected start to suffocate unless they make others laugh, forcing them to act like desperate fools or die.
>Wicked Eyes Fly to the Full Moon
A singular owl with the power to instantly kill anyone that looks at its eyes. Directly or indirectly. You see it through binoculars? Dead. You see it on tv? Dead. And it's loose in a highly populated city.
>Souboutei Must Be Destroyed
Shapeshifting, mind-controlling, hive mind aliens with god-like power are invading through a portal in one specific building. Good news, the nitrogen in the atmosphere is dangerous to them. Bad news, they can possess humans that enter the building to use as skin suits to go outside. They thrive in water, so if they get to the ocean then all life is fucked.
>Moonlight Act
Fairy tale creatures are climbing out of their story books and going on a rampage. And some of their powers border on toonforce.

What other thing humanity fear and can be a threat?
Dragons are legendary beasts but also magical ones, they would fall in the demon category.
>>
>>288886190
I like to think about how the threat works or how it affects humans. Aliens just want them exterminated, Demons want to torture and rule over them, Humans abandoned their humanity are self destructive, Neo-Humans abandoned their humanity as well but treat regular humans as beneath them, parasites take over, ect.
A new threat should have a new dynamic with how they see or treat humans. Maybe a threat that effect the minds of humans but I think the game world will be playing with that concept soon.

>>Karakuri Circus
They are still controlled by humans; any faction will realize this and kill them in seconds. The Giants would actually crush both puppet and puppeteer with their clubs and throw them to the mushmeat pile

>Wicked Eyes Fly to the Full Moon
Aliens kill the owl with no problem

>Souboutei Must Be Destroyed
Weird Aliens vs Aliens and Kaiju

>Moonlight Act
They are like the fairies that accompany heroes; they are no match for demons, much less for entities like aliens, robots, or giants, among others.

Genuine question but what's the appeal behind this manga? I have read the first chapter, and I occasionally read through a chapter dump if I come across one, although I have no idea what the story is about or where it's ultimately heading. Is there nothing to more to it beyond watching a rotation of action figures slam into each other? Any speculations on the final arc or the ending?

You're thinking of the marionettes. I was talking about the Automata. They aren't controlled by people.

Is a Battle manga
Warhammer without Grimdark edgy bullshit and actually fun power scale.
Fierce and epic unfiltered battles between 13 different factions, each as unique as it is powerful and unhinged.
The Humans of these 13 realities, as one humanity, seek a safe place guided by our protagonists, a gifted Hero and an intelligent Archmage, 2 brothers who had the idea of making the threats face each other.

Versus is basically about humanity across 13 different realities, all simultaneously trying to escape a major threat by fleeing to a new reality. This, in turn, causes all realities to merge, bringing all the threats with them. To survive, humanity unites and decides to trick the different threats into fighting each other. So the aliens, demons, robots, parasites, and giants are from five different worlds, and the whole situation becomes a power scale scenario.

It's just fighting and powerscale fun with some good humor sprinkled here and there.

>Ushio and Tora
Hakumen is powerful enough that it could solo every faction of NEs we've seen at once and required the entire world + all the non-comically evil yokai (who were serving it or were extensions of it) to band together to finally destroy, so it might very well take its place as the ultimate threat assuming the other Fujita big bads don't do it themselves.

>Karakuri Circus
Faceless is the only one who knows how to cure Zonapha Syndrome and given all his numerous contingencies and other shit (including a literal space station that is itself one of the Automata), he could damn well become unassailable to most factions. The Madalans, probably Daikoukazan, Yaotsu, World Tree, Curse, Machines, and Game would be fine but anything with a functioning nervous syndrome or a need to breathe is going to die unless they can get him to cough up the cure. And the Automata themselves are a mass produced menace who, whilst incapable of hanging with the stringer NEs, could easily cause problems for everyone else.

>Wicked Eyes Fly to the Full Moon
Minerva's gimmick is instantaneous death but it's relatively fragile and plenty of the NEs should be able to tag it assuming she doesn't instantly hit them with the death stare.

>Souboutei Must Be Destroyed
Alongside Hakumen, they're the other ones I feel who will most likely take and own the "big bad" spot (maybe tieing with Moonlight Act as well) simply because they have the greatest potential to destroy the world completely and render it utterly uninhabitable to any other faction outside of the Madalans since even a single drop of their liquid body hitting any major water source = the planet is doomed. And Souboutei would be thoroughly impregnate to almost all attacks given its literally made of them and they can reconstruct it at will if copious nitrogen isn't used and Deido is inside and he's arguably more dangerous in some ways (also Ougen). If some way to counter Shino/the Invaders isn't found fast, then them, Hakumen, the Madalans and the fairies will swiftly be the only threats remaining.

>Moonlight Act
Last I checked, wasn't there something involving all of Japan getting casually wiped out by some major threat in this one? If so, it's up there with the above.
