That ending is so bad it was clearly intentional. The amount of inconsistencies, retcons, and Marvel-esque writing in the last few chapters is just too much. Isayama was never a very talented writer, always needing thriller clichés to continue his story, but he did create a really good setup, a setup he completely destroyed. Why did he decide to ruin his career? Only Ymir knows. He's going to have to apologize for the ending a couple more times.

Am I retarded or did the "both sides are bad/cycle of hatred" thing just not feel right? The only time I thought the yeagerists were wrong was when they poisoned all those people with Zeke's spinal fluid. Outside of that, any kind of action taken against Marley or the rest of the world would have been self defense. And there was no other way out. Armin and Hange's plan of a partial rumbling would have just reaffirmed their views of them being monsters and Zeke's plan would just piss Marley off and have them kill their own Eldians and then lay waste to Paradis for their stone. If Eren didn't do anything Willy would have successfully convinced the other countries to team up against Paradis and the same result happened when Eren did do something. What other way out is there supposed to be?And Isayama went out of his way by telling us through that Eldian boy Gabi and Falco hung out with that Eldians are treated worse outside of Marley. And Marley is the main one we've seen turning them into titans and torturing and harassing them. How bad could the other countries be if Marley's the nice guy (see pic related)? Diplomacy is absolutely out of the question, especially without Erwin.
