>>288881733I think it comes down to the story structure, since stands JoJo became more about showcasing unique powers and interesting fights which lead to a more episodic structure. While in the hamon era fights are more integrated into the plot, they all matter.From part 5 onwards it got gradually better in this aspect.
David utterly failed Araki's style during parts 1 and 2 and I'd vastly prefer a more faithful do-over of them over Jojolion once SBR is finished.
