Did the Zen'in clan even have children? Maki and Mai seemed like the youngest aside from Ranta, who Maki did not cut down and just ignored him, but left him to die anyway because he wanted her dead. Oh and Megumi, who Maki didn't have a problem with and never called himself a Zen'in anyway.Most of this was the Zen'ins' fault anyway. Ogi attacked Maki, who fought back. Everyone else attacked Maki in response, who simply continued to fight back.
If Maki was willing to kill her mother when she wasn't a threat I see no reason why she'd stop at children and other innocent people
No she was not. Maki didn't nearly suffer as some major manga characters yet she went to such length a lot of anime villain would refrain to. This event had no business being in a shonen but create a fake controversy. And you can tell what kind of people support that event and justify it to whatever means. Ultimately, Maki did everyone a favor (though she really just did it out of personal grief, not to help anyone but herself). Even then that's still way too extreme to be perceived as positive shonen wise
