I have absolutely no idea what the Hell arc might be like as an actual arc. I've been thinking about it for all these years and I still don't have any clue. The oneshot dropped a lot of bombs but it remained very ambiguous on what the actual arc might be about or how it can be structured. Are we actually going to Hell a-la the fourth movie? Are the Hell denizens coming out of Hell? We just have to wait and see now I guess.

The soul king needed to die and so did Ichibei.Aizen could have soloed Ywach if he won. He became a zanpakuto with the power of truth, and still had his illusions. Zanpakuto can become way stronger in the royal palace, Aizen in that form would have got way stronger, had a means to deceive the Almighty (his illusions) and a way to reject the Almighty warping reality (reality warping is objectively contradictory to Truth). He could have easily created a weapon to kill Ywach from the soul king's body just like the arrow Uryu used.Reality is Ywach only won because of Ichigo, defeating Aizen before he could reach the palace and become stronger by using final Getsuga to become "Getsuga" which was actually just young Ywach, is the only reason Ichigo was able to beat Aizen. A powered up by the royal palace Aizen would have been unbeatable.Aizen could have taken down the soul king and the Quincy without Ichigo's interference.
